Is this suppose to be Rusted ?!?!?
I saw this while I was installing the Catch Can on my car and I spotted that this particular part was completely rusted on both side of engine. I can figure out as much it is bolted on to and has something to do with the exhaust. Is it okay for it to be rusted? My car is Brand New just 3 weeks old and only 600miles now on the clock. I don't see anyway possible that it could have happened while I got it.
I just wanted to know what it is and if it was expected to be rusted? Or is this something where I should take my car in to the dealership and have them change it immediately? Can someone please tell me what part is that? I am not a very well informed person when it comes to engines. I mean its all clean and pretty looking motor and then I see this rusted part bolted on there.   Thanks.

Totally normal those are your exhaust pipes coming out the the heads they are bare metal and will have that surface rust on them rite after they are made and are exposed to the air, no issue there

SoCal = less rust. Michigan = exposure to air= rust. Ha Ha.

I grew up in central IL. My Mom used to say that her '71 Nova rolled off the auto carrier at the dealership and was already starting to rust. She probably wasn't too far off the mark.
