MayheM's Engine cover

I have a bunch of mods planned for my car, but summer is coming and my family wants to do some traveling. So there is not a lot I can do about my mod budget at the moment. So I need to be a bit creative.

I picked up some silver, black and red paint and some very small paint brushes. I originally planned to plasti-dip the "CHEVROLET" raised lettering, but apparently in Canada Plasti-dip is not on the shelves. I checked everywhere locally to me.

I forgot to take a before picture, so I will just re-use an old picture from when I did my first engine clean.

I was only able to get the right side CHEVROLET done today ... if its nice out tomorrow I will do the left side.

This was really hard to do because the lettering is so small and there is ZERO room for error. I really dont have a way to correct any mistakes.

For the "V8", I did not paint the entire raised lettering I thought the black between the red and silver made it "pop" a bit more.

Next I need to do something with the crossmember bar. I was thinking about painting the ends flat black and actual bar a gunmetal silver color. I dont know if there is anything special about painting that, it looks like its all aluminum. If anyone has pointers, suggestions .. let me know.

And now for the pics ...

Unpainted

Finally finished.

Cleaned up the engine bay a little before I took the pictures.
