Maggie quarter mile times?

I'm probably going to head to the drag strip this Saturday and I'd like to know what you guys think I should be running? I agree that the track is a much better gauge of power than a dyno, and I'm anxious to see what she runs?

Here's my set up. Let me know your thoughts. Thanks!

2011 Camaro SS (L99)
Magnacharger TVS 2300 with 3.8 pulley (5.8 lbs of boost)
LT 1 7/8 headers
High flow cats
Borla S-type axle back exhaust
SCT from Jannetty
LS9 injectors
ZR1 plugs
Nitto 555R drag radials (275's on stock 20's)
Stock air box
Stock gears

What is a realistic 60' time with this set up for a novice drag racer?

What tire pressure should I be running and what is the best technique for heating the tires and launching the car?

I would say you should be High 11's easy. Your 60' should be in the 1.6 range if you can get traction. I would start with 20psi and go from there. Way I do my burnout is tap into 1st and get the tires spinning aroung 5000rpm then shift to 2nd and keep the rmps around 5000, once I start to see smoke come off the tire i release the brake and spin out of the box. Just going to take some practice figuring out what your tires like.

High 11's hopefully. While the 555r's worked for me bolt-on they weren't too good sc. I'd start at 20 psi and go down from there. You have too heat the 555r pretty good. Being a novice I'd leave off idle and make sure you have no wheel spin. If you do have spin air down first until no more spin. After you get launch down rhen maybe start stalling it up.

Also, go around water box and back into it. I do a quick spin and than move up a little to do my burnout. Remember baby steps. Work on one thing at a time.

I was thinking the same thing. HA!! Great minds must think alike. I really appreciate the advice guys. I would be extremely happy with upper 11's!! We'll see what I can do? Weather is supposed to be perfect.

Like everyone else said, high 11's.
When I had 555R's on stock rims with 500ish whp, I raced with them at 14psi. That's where they hooked the best. Of course I was leaving the line at 4000RPM, so it might be different for you. I agree with starting at 20 and letting some out until you see the best result. Just make sure you get a big ol smokey burnout

Only made 429 rwhp but found out she was was running a little lean. Ted fixed that today after I sent him the results. This was also on a Mustang dyno. Seems like these tend to run 10-12% less than Dynojet. I'm still running the stock 3.8 pulley and stock air box. That will be changing!! Ted thinks I'll pick up another 60 rwhp with the 3.6 pulley and CAI alone. Not too bad for a L99 I guess? Certainly not as strong as some of your guys numbers with similar mods. We'll see what she does at the track? Looking forward to it!

When I was just heads and cam I was at 419 and ran 12 flat. Don't worry about the dyno #'s. The track will tell you your HP.

419 with heads and cam? Must've been a mustang dyno in 130 degree weather...

That 12 flat sure ain't bad though

Yup, I agree. Still kinda nice to have dyno numbers to brag about though. HA! Thanks.
