Still no tow hook for '14???

For a car that is produced for the track enthusiast...why is there still not a tow hook incorporated into the car???

My mom just bought a new jetta that has a cutout for a hook with a burly screw in that is kept in the glove compartment.

Why is this soooo difficult for chevy?

I am pretty sure that all German cars come that way. I believe it is a requirement there. I have never seen an american car with anything similar from the factory. It would not be cost effective for GM to incorporate it since only a small percentage of owners will actually track their cars. IMO.

It would be nice to have it as an option though.

Check this one out.

Not sure if this is what you're talking about, but back in June at one of our events, GM had several 2014's there and we noticed a small square outline on the front bumper on the passenger side. When we asked what it was, we were told it's an access spot for a tow point that's required on European cars.

...I hope so...that would be nice.

And I am sorry, but you can not say "cost cutting" is the reason for no tow hook. This is not a spark or sonic...its a ZL1!!!

Call me crazy I guess...but the engineers who made a track based car that warranties track based mechanical issues...should probably have thought to include a track based necessity as simple as a tow hook.

Don't see why not. The impression I got was that they were, just like the rear license plate area is bigger on the 2014's to accommodate the European license plates. All part of the way to commonize parts to reduce cost.
