Exclamation Low Oil pressure Turn Off Engine...

So i get home from work and a buddy calls me up to give him a ride to his job. I figure why not i've only been awake 28 hrs what's 15 more minutes....I get to his apartment and turn off the car. Come back out not 4 minutes later and i turn her on...and i get LOW OIL PRESSURE TURN OFF ENGINE! I freaked and turned it off and looked around. Turned it back on and saw that there was no oil pressure, and it gives me the same warning. Except this time the oil pressure comes back up and is reading all over the place. I give the car gas and it goes up and down. I call the dealership and take it there and tell them that i read on here there was a TSB for the oil pump sucking ass and that it needs to be replaced cause of a check valve. The lady tells me that i dont have bumper to bumper anymore but i still have Drivetrain warranty and takes my car in. I told the Service Manager my concern and had him write it in on the notes and give him the TSB number and everything. Good guy helped me more than the chick did. Also it helped that i had to unload my car and pack everything into the rental and i had my duty belt, shotgun, and AR, along with my Duty bag that says SHERIFF on it lol. Changed their attitude real quick. Anyone experience any problems after this? I'm looking for the GM Rep that's on here to PM him and ask him some questions. Would my CAI and Corsa cat back void anything? Hope not, I don't want to have to pay this out of pocket as it will have to wait a couple of paychecks to get the money for.

Any modification COULD void the warranty if the dealership wants to be that anal about it... some of them are friendlier than others... hopefully you took it to a good one.

It's at Ken Batchelor Cadillac of S.A. They've always treated me very good, here's hoping they don't change that.

Best of luck with the car. The only thing that would void your warranty with the listed mods would be if you had to tune the car for the exhaust.

Look at the threads that talk about warranty. A dealer has to prove that your MODS caused the malfunction.

Update: they called just now and said it was the oil pressure sensor. Told me it would be $415 to replace it and it wasn't covered under warranty. I was like for a sensor? No thanks I'll replace it myself. I hope it's only the sensor and not the oil pump.

Why wouldn't that be covered under warranty? Your mods shouldn't have caused the sensor to go

'Cause his bumper-to-bumper warranty is EXPIRED. A sensor isn't going to be covered under the powertrain warranty.
