carbon fiber insert

what is the deal with the exposed carbon fiber insert ? where can you find this part and how much does it cost?

Reason your not getting many responses is because it's in the wrong place .. But the insert from what I heard is in the 4k range and through GM

You can buy it from any Chevrolet dealer. The MSRP for the carbon fiber insert is $3,300.

WTF???? The hood retails for $700.00 right? Is the CF insert made in space? That is insane.....

Yes, the hood by it self retails for around $700 - but then you still need to buy the insert.

The hood itself retails for $872.88 22824393 - ZL1 CAMARO HOOD
you then need to purchase the insert. GM is going this I believe to prevent people from buying them plus I am sure increased costs as well. but the main factor I believe to to deter people from buying the parts.

The MSRP is $5147.90 for the hood (unpainted) and the exposed CF insert plus you need to buy some additional parts as well.
