what is the deal with the exposed carbon fiber insert ? where can you find this part and how much does it cost?

The hood itself retails for $872.88 22824393 - ZL1 CAMARO HOOD
you then need to purchase the insert. GM is going this I believe to prevent people from buying them plus I am sure increased costs as well. but the main factor I believe to to deter people from buying the parts. The MSRP is $5147.90 for the hood (unpainted) and the exposed CF insert plus you need to buy some additional parts as well.
