DWS06 or G Force Comp 2's in front

I'm putting some radials on my Z now that the weather is cold. I have settled on 315/35/20 DWS06's on the rear. They make only the 275/35/20 DWS06's for the front, and 285/35/20 Comp 2's.

I'd rather stay stock sixe. My understanding is the Comp 2 is noisier than the DWS06. Any opinions on which way to go for the front? Thanks.

Get the Extreme Contact Sport. Better tire and they make it in a 285. They are hard to break loose in 30 deg weather. Awesome tires.

If you want to see pictures. look in the 'ZL1 5 spoke graphite' thread. Those are stock size 285,305. They put the stock Goodyears to shame.

They do? I'll have to keep looking. I've only seen it in 275 (I already have the 315's). Thanks.

Two different tires. Extreme contact dws06 only comes in 275. Extreme contact sport comes in 285. If you want something to drive in the cold, dws06 is your choice. Extreme contact sport will have the same potential glass transition temperature cracking problems as the supercar g:2's at temps below freezing.

Thanks Rob. That's why I wasn't finding it.

I had the Extreme Contact on a different car last winter. Tires cracked when it got below 32 degrees. Avoid them for cold weather.

Contact...or Contact Sport? I had a lengthy conversation with an engineer (not a tech or cs) at Continental yesterday. He assured me the compounds in the DWS06 will withstand subzero weather...it is an all season radial. Whereas the Sport is a summer tire, with soft compounds that will crack below 40'.

Anyone see a problem with mixing G Force in the front and DWS06's in the rear to keep the sizing original?

Not sure if anyone saw my post but bfg are coming back mid January. This comes from a source at tire rack I’m friends with. I have my order in when they hit the market. Just wish they offered the 315s for the rear

Not the DWS's (Snow), the DW's were the issue.

Went with 315 DWS06's rear and 285 GForce 2's in front.
