ls3 is the manual transmission ss engine.
l99 is the auto transmission ss engine.

there's a pretty big difference i think.

LS3 is the name of the engine in the manual transmission Camaro.

Automatic transmission = L99 engine = 400 horsepower

Manual transmission = LS3 engine = 426 horsepower

the engine is also in the base Corvette and the G8

Cool, thanks! I got the L99 I guess, but with my back I can't sit in traffic with my foot on the clutch all morning and afternoon any longer.

Nice. I have a car now that reccomends/requires premium fuel. It started taking a hit when all the gas stations started adding ethanol. Is that an issue with the Camaro?

Right, but I like to do the recommended. With my current car, even using the recommended fuel caused issues due to the added ethanol.

I'm sure it's no longer an issue with the newer cars, just wanted to put it out there.

no, not an issue at all. the onboard computer recognizes the mixture.

the % of ethanol in the gasoline today is not enough to worry about. now if you were running e85, thats a whole 'nother story

only running lower grade fuel, not because the fuel has ethanol in it

Ethanol

Amok,

I see you're driving a Mini that's manufactured by BMW. I'm now on my third high pressure fuel pump on my one year old BMW with twin turbos because the alloys used in the pump reacted weirdly to the ethanol in gasoline when the mixture got beyond 90% gasoline, 10% ethanol. Supposedly they've corrected the problem (at least I've stayed on the road for the last several months and haven't had to be towed in for my fourth fuel pump!!).

I hpe this helps.
