Matte, alloy, gloss, or satin?

I own a 2012 Camaro LS and am buying SS wheels in the spring. I want them to be black, but I dont know what black will match my car the best...matte, alloy, gloss, or satin...?

I'm partial to satin. It's a nice middle ground for those who think matte is too flat. The Z28 at the NY auto show had that nice satin look. Not too much, not too little.

I'd go with black chrome first. I'm just not that impressed when someone paints their stock 20"s all black. If you do paint them Black I'd liven it up a little by adding a red, or silver line around the wheels, and that will probably take care of your fear of it not matching your car. Also I'd consider getting the calipers done in a brighter theme color to stand out against all that black.

If I was refinishing them, I'd black chrome the wheels, then get them to black chrome the taillight bezels, camaro fender badges, and bowties while they were doing the rims. That way your black on black but with something different.

If I had the money I would love do do mine this way.

I'd have to do something about the center caps and lugs though. Possibly some racing lugs and use a translucent paint on the center caps.

Majority of people have told me to go with satin and that was what I was going with, but then I seen some gloss SS wheel and now I like both! I heard it is real tough to keep satin clean! Also, I might paint a part of the wheels red to go with red stripes I might get...but I dont know which paint is easier to paint over.
