So I installed my elite catch can yesterday. Since I just got home from being out of town, I drove the car pretty hard all day. I drove approximately 40 miles. Just to see what could have possibly happened in 40 miles I checked it this morning. Here's what I got.

Seems like a lot for only 40 miles of driving. Wondering, would it be less if driven easier?

What I have read the harder you drive the more oil there will be. So I'm assuming there was this much for 40 miles because like I said I drove very hard. I'm guessing if you drive easy there won't be much but I'm not sure

Yes, how you drive has an big impact on how much blow by occurs. It happens regardless, there is just more when you are on the throttle hard.

Yep that's about right with hard driving. Definitely better in the can than your intake track!

Yeah I'm at 18k miles and wasn't familiar with catch cans so I'm scared to see how dirty it is lol. I'll clean it when I get around to it but in the mean time at least I'm preventing further build up?

Yeah, better late than never. You can do a Seafoam treatment to clean up the oil already there. Here is a good write up on it.

Good thread thanks. I used seafoam on my high mileage 98 frontier.. My lifters were making a very weird noise, used the required amount and it stopped shortly after

Yeah it's good stuff. I use it on all my cars about every 40K miles or so.

Today I did the fuel injector and IM treatment and boy was it smokey haha
