2014 Camaro questions

After many years of driving pickup trucks, I intend to trade my 2003 2500HD diesel to a 2014 Camaro 2SS coupe with the RS package, RUY polished wheels and manual transmission. These are my questions:

1. The wheels are 20 x 8 front and 20 x 9 rear and come with summer performance tires. When the tires wear out, I would like to replace with all-seasons in the largest sizes that will not rub. Recommendations?

2. What does the optional NPP "dual-mode performance" exhaust consist of and should I skip that and install an aftermarket exhaust system from Borla, etc.?

3. The standard sport seats appear to be 6-way power. Are they heated? Are the optional Recaro seats power-adjust and heated?

4. Is the standard manual shifter acceptable? If not, what is the aftermarket favorite of the forum?

5. Likewise, what are the forum's favorite window tint brands?

Thanks in advance.

2. I ordered it for my 2014 1LE. Everybody that has the NPP exhaust loves it. The exhaust has valves that close to eliminate drone when you're driving down the highway, plus the quad tips look cool.
3. The standard seats if you get leather are heated. Not sure about the new Recaros as there is not much info out on them yet. If you do order the Recaros you will be waiting an indefinite amount of time as it has been stated that they won't be ready for the start of production.
4. Go with the factory performance shifter as an option. It's the same shifter used in the ZL1 and the 1LE and has gotten very good reviews.

Good luck with your order.

Rcommend stock sizes also as the tires are allready large and I use my perellis all winter long here in oregon, not something i could do with the goodyears on a zl1 or 1le, the standard shifter works fine..., window tint and amount depends on your area...The NPP dual mode is axle back and I love it its the best sounding stock exhaust and is on the zl1 and vette...........totally worth it and then someday I just want to add headers and high flow cats.

I don't see a performance shifter option on the 2014 ordering guide.

Also, how did you order a car with no pricing info available yet?

There are several great performance shifters out there.
I installed the Hurst and it made a big difference.
Lots of members love the MGW Shifter.

1. Continental Extreme Contact DWS are a good all around performance all season tire, stick with the stock sizes if they make them. I've run them on two different cars in the winter (not the Camaro though) and was pleased.

There should be a performance shifter on the guide somewhere, it replaced the hurst shifter last year. I put in a preliminary order that will be accepted when the real ordering starts sometime next month.

FOUND the factory performance shifter (code KTU) on the 2014 ordering guide. The old eyes flat out missed it previously. Thanks for that.

The best part about the dual mode exhaust is you can just pop the fuse to make the valve default to being open... it's the best "free mod" for exhaust.

The optional short throw factory shifter

I bought 20x10 and 20x11s no rubbing but also not lowered. My seats are heated and great - no Recaro needed here. Dealer did the tint for free.

I have auto so can't answer some of the questions. I test drove the manual and it was bad ass though!

The aftermarket Hurst shifter actually has a shorter throw than the old factory Hurst shifter. I believe it is a 44% reduction VS 22%.
