Need advise

I have a 2011 2SS and am starting first of many winter upgrades and was hoping for some advise. The first upgrade is adding the strut brace and I was wondering if anyone has added this to their early 2011 (the early 2011 didn't come with pre-drilled holes in the tower). I have the kit and the instructions, but would really like to know a little more detail on how to install this. I'm also trying to remove the factory trunk panel extension covers. Anyone tried this?

Don't know if it will fit with your blower.

The factory brace will clear the supercharger with about an inch to spare. The mount kit actually raises the brace about an inch from stock. The instructions say to drill out the spot welds that hold the factory hood strut bracket, but I'm a bit nervous doing it so I was hoping someone might have been successful and could lend some advise.
