When car arrives at dealer

When a camaro arives at a dealer, what kind if plastics are inside and outside the car,? The ones tht are in the external part if the car? How do you remove them? Can you just peel them off my hand? Or do you need some type of product? Any feed back would be great! Thanks

The dealer takes care of that unless you tell them not to remove anything.

The plastic just peels off by hand. It's not held on by adhesives - its more like the little sticker that's placed on the inside of your windshield when you get an oil change. And YOU don't have to remove them - the dealer will take care of that, give it a quick vacuum, wash & detail and then hand you the keys.

Nope, nothing to it!

Personally I'd let the dealer take care of it just so an extra pair of eyes check it over. Just remind them to omit installing a front license plate holder and NO DEALER EMBLEMS (if that is your preference.)

If the dealer emblem is a sticker I have no problem with it but if its a big ol badge then yeah I have a problem lol

You are better off letting the dealer at least remove all the plastic. You might be suprised by what is hiding behind one of those pieces of tape or under that seat plastic...and when you get home and peel off that tape or remove the plastic and find the problem...guess who is "on the hook?" This would give your dealer a huge door to escape from having to fix the problem if they wanted to.

I'm not saying it would be that way, but I'll tell you that if the tape hadn't come off our vette before we picked it up, we would have missed a couple of issues with paint that I might have been stuck with (bumper alignment caused a rub on the corner of the hood) Could have easily have been a "rock chip" if I had found it at home versus at the dealer.

My rule is they strip all the plastic off and rinse it off...not detailing, no drying, nothing...just so we can verify any paint damage. This is especially true when you deal with a dark colored car.

Make sure you spell out your desires well before your car is due to arrive. Our vette actually arrived two weeks before we thought it would and we were on vacatioin at the time. The dealer stored the car in the shop (they've got an area for delivery cars like ours was that is set off from the rest of the shop...a building within the other if you must) and the car did not get touched until the day we picked it up when the above process happened. Was the car "clean" when I got it? Absolutely not...I washed it myself when I got home. Did the detailer's dirty towels touch my car? Nope! Did I still answer that the car was clean on my survey? Yes, because they did what I asked of them.

be careful...I have seen and heard of dealers actually using the cars that customers order as test drive vehicles for other customers before the actual customer that ordered the car is called to come pick it up.....
