Question Need Tire Advice please! Drag / DD / Cammed & stalled

Hello all (tire newb here)

I have a 2012 L99 (ls3 conversion) auto, night fury cammed, with a 3200 stall putting down around 470rwhp.

I still have the stock ss/rs rims and wont be buying new rims until next year.

I dont plan to autocross much, if at all. But I do plan to drag a decent amount. The car is also a DD with about 12k miles per year.

I will be driving to C5 fest this year and want to make a few passes, and will be running the 1/4 here at home. I doubt I could buy a cheap set of rims and tires just to drag with and fit them in my car to go all the way to texas, and to the track ill race at in LA, so I need a tire that is good for a DD and hitting the drag strip once a month.

My pirellis are getting pretty worn in the back (can still break em loose at 45mph lol), the fronts are ok but i will probably replace before camaro fest.

So my question, which tires would yall recommend for a DD and drag racing, for front and rear stock SS/RS wheels.

And would you recommend sticking with the stock tire sizes of 245/45 and 275/40, or do you think something wider will fit without bulging out too bad?

Thanks, I know that I will have traction issues no matter what, but I cant afford to get new rims this year (having just put the cam in).

Most of (if not all) the lethal guys run MT ET streets on 20's on the street. I have a LOT of friends that run them and love them. I'm putting a set of 18" welds on soon with them. Haven't decided on the fronts yet, but I'm out of town on buisness so I have some time. Granted they are soft, sticky, and you will go through them quick. It's all a trade off though!

I've heard here those were great too and much better tread wear for dd. I expect to go through 3 sets of MTs a year! Nick may even go through more! Lol

Ill def look into those.

Yeah, for me im leaning more towards the street purpose over the drag purpose, considering how much ill be dragging compared to how many commuting miles ill be putting on. But ill check those out, depending on the price.

Thanks!
