Has anyone tried or know anything about Meguiars Waterles Wash and Wax?

I live in SE NC and have a year-round bug problem. I try to keep them cleaned off as much as possible, but sometimes I just can't get to it right away. So, I saw this stuff from Meguiar's that is called the "Ultimate Wash and Wax Anywhere". Supposedly you can use this stuff dry and it will remove surface dirt and dust and leave behind a coat of wax. I have used Meguiar's products for years, have always been satisfied with them and trust them. But, I don't want to just willy-nilly use a new product without knowing a little about it. I have used some stuff called "Bug-Block" on my RV and truck which helps keep the bugs from sticking, but, again, I don't want to use something on my baby that may cause damage. With this new stuff I should be able to just spray and wipe across the front to get the bugs off without having to get out the bucket, hose, etc. or use one of the strong bug removers. Any input or ideas about this stuff? Thanks.

It is good stuff. Not for when your car is really dirty like after driving in the rain or in dusty/dirty areas & your car is covered with heavy grime, but it is great for removing a few bugs or after a short drive. Just use a bit of comon sense. I spray it on stuff like bugs/bird poo & let if soak in for a bit to loosen it, then use one cloth to lightly remove the worst of it, spray again & wipe carefully with a clean cloth. I often use it to clean up after driving to a car show or when it has been sitting a while in the garage & collected some dust.

There are better options out there that are proven to work extremely well. ONR (optimum no rinse) as well as Ultimate waterless wash are very popular around here. They are highly concentrated so smallish bottle will last a LONG TIME. The good thing about them is that they have several uses, depending on how you dilute it. They spot clean, detail spray, clay lube, full car waterless wash, all at different dilutions. You can go to autogeek.net to read about both of them. As has been said, you don't want to use any WW if your car is filthy. Cleaning bugs and stuff off shouldn't be a problem as long as they aren't too dried on.

Thanks for the feedback. I am glad to hear that the Maquiars is supported by at least one poster on this site and to learn of other similar products and a source for them. I will look into both further and appreciate the information.

Mequiars isn't bad at all. IMO they are one of the better OTC clay, shampoo, waxes, etc. It is expensive for the amount you get compared to the ones I listed. For instance, a $16/32oz bottle of ONR will make 4 gallons of detail spray, or 16 gallons of clay lube. You can add a little to your shampoo to make it slicker and even put a little in your windshield washer fluid. It's just one of those products that does everything well. Ultimate WW does the same thing and some say it does it better than ONR. A single 26oz spray bottle of Meguiars wash and wax anywhere is $15. Just something else to think about.

a lot of the "premium" products are highly recommended because even though they may seem a little more expensive at times they actually either have more uses or you can use less to achieve the same as an OTC product. ONR and Ultima are great examples of this. Another example is Meguires D120 (I believe that's the designation) is a gallon of window cleaner that comes extremely concentrated and makes 11 gallons once diluted. That's a meguires product from their pro line that you might only be able to get a hold of online. But in that case it's extremely worth it.

But for OTC stuff, meguires makes great stuff. It's probably one of the only brands I'd go to if i was in a pinch and I needed something.

I have used the Meguiars waterless wash and had good luck with it.

It has good lubrication and a nice smell. Again, you shouldn't use it on a really dirty car.

For an OTC product it very good.

WOW! Lots of good suggestions. Now I have some homework to do while the weather is too bad to do anything outside. With all of this information I can decide what I want to try first and be ready for when the weather clears, although they are predicting upper 60's and low 70's for a week after this Fri.

What homework do you have to do. I thought we covered it, for the most part. You can pay $15 for one 26oz bottle of Meguiars or $16-20 for ONR or UWW and have several GALLONS. To me it seems like it's just a matter of pulling the trigger either way. If you decide to order some ONR or UWW, i'd HIGHLY suggest getting some good micro fiber towels, if you don't already have some. Saves you a bit on shipping.

Sorry if it came across the wrong way. I didn't mean it to. Some people don't like to order stuff online and that's fine. We just hate for people to spend hard earned money on something when there's something better and cheaper out there. Not very often when you find something that's good and inexpensive but these two really are.

You need to compare apples to apples. ONR (which I have gallons of ) is a Rinseless wash. Optimum Opti-Clean is Optimum's waterless product. Meguiars Rinse Free Express Wash & Wax D115 is basically a waterless wash. Spray on and wipe off which would be the same as Opti-Clean. It is concentrated and mixes with water into a spray bottle at 4:1. Now Meg's Express Wash D114 is comparable to ONR and both are Rinseless wash products that mix 1oz:to a gallon water.
Many people misunderstand the terms Rinseless and Waterless wash methods. I have used ONR since it originally released and through the newer versions that have been released over the years. I also have used Opti-Clean and both of Meg's new products. They are all great products. I also have the new ONR+W and it works great for doing door jams For quick clean up. So if you find one or more of these products on sale don't be afraid to pull the trigger.

PS : The Meg's products I have mentioned are the Professional Series and may not reflect the same product # found OTC.

I use meguiars on my 2013 and it works perfect. I am a finicky detailer and this stuff is good. Like everyone is saying, do not use it on a filthy car. I'm sure there are other cleaners for cheaper, but I'll stick with a staple in the industry.
