CGM SS/RS Stripes #9520 Delivered

Well, its been a long wait, but patience is truly a virtue. I picked this wonderful car up on 5/30/09 at Classic Chevrolet in Sugar Land. I've owned pretty much every generation of Camaro since owning my first one, a brown 1979, when I was 17 years old. I've always loved these cars and I am so overwhelmed that GM took this concept car and actually made them for us! The weekend has been somewhat emotional with the great feeling of getting a Camaro all while listening to the media discussing the GM bankruptcy. I fear for what this new GM will be and my heart is heavy for an institution that has been around for many decades. Anyway...

Well hope you guys like the pics. There are already so many, I almost didn't want to make the effort, but then again my favorite thing to do was log in everyday to see what's new. I suppose if I never tire of seeing yet more pictures then neither would you guys! Words cannot even describe being behind the wheel of this car. I had a 3 hour drive back to Austin and had some time for it to all set in. I was a bit worried about getting used to a stick in traffic, Houston traffic no less, so the first hour was a bit stressful. Once I got back around local parts, I felt more comfortable and started to enjoy the experience. It was funny as hell when people would zoom by and realize WHAT they just passed and literally slam on the brakes to drop back and check the car out. I literally had people circling the car on the highway, taking pictures, honking, waving, jaws-dropped and tongues hanging out. Beware stopping this car anywhere! The bottom line is this car was well worth the wait and I hope everyone has a blast when they get theirs.

Lastly, I would like to thank all the fantastic folks at Classic Chevrolet in Sugar Land for an experience buying a 2010 Camaro the way it should be. Thanks to Eric Hall (Classic Grapevine) for hooking me up with Mark Myers at the Sugar Land dealership. If you want an excellent, laid back MSRP experience, these guys will hook you up! Thanks to JoeClassic at the dealership for hanging out a bit and chatting about the Camaro5 forums. Peace!

Well I guess everything in Texas is bigger, look at that inspection sticker. Sticks out like a sore thumb. I'm glad we have gotten that far here in the KY.

Beautiful car though.

lol..yea no kidding. I was thinking with the big black solar panel thing behind the mirror, the Tx-tag will be almost right smack in the middle of the windshield. Throw in the reg sticker and you'll basically have about 40% visibility!! I knew I shoulda got the sunroof to stick my head out the top for a good view : )

I was a bit worried with all the talk about visibility and mirrors. Clearly none of the complainers have driven an FJ Cruiser. After driving my wifes a few years, the camaro seems easy. Worst part is trying not to knock a mirror off getting into the garage...it'll happen one day...I just know it.

I saw your car there on Friday when I bought the twin sister of it. They were both in the make-ready garage, waiting for stripes to be put on. Congrats!
