Faster 60ft even if dead hooking already?

Question, not a suspension guy by any means! My last car ran deep into 11s in stock suspension and I never changed it. Right now my car has lazy gearing with a 2.48 first and stock 3.45 rear. I plan on keeping it this way and once I got out with the th400 the car dead hooks a 1.75-78 60ft! I am wondering if I can improve that to a 1.70 with say a rear drag bar?

If a car dead hooks can it 60ft faster without more power? I already removed front sway bar and boxed in my control arms.

Needs more gear or converter. If you want to 60 foot better with lazy gears, try to break the tires loose. A slight slip will net a better time. A car at your power will do best with a 15:1 first gear, and you arent even close with that combo. Like I said, more gear or converter.

Car is staying this way, it's dual purpose for me. That's why I asked if suspension will help any. I plan on adding a little more power and spray at some point but gearing and stall will stay. Need to fine tune a bit, some intake work and goal is to hit 11.49 then hit it with a shot to get into the 10s. All I need for a street car.

Was wondering if I stiffen the rear suspension a bit with a drag bar, might wast less energy and put a little more power down.

No, you're wasting time and money if the car dead hooks.

Ok thanks, should I run higher air pressure in tires if it still hooking? Should ET faster right, with less rolling resistance if low pressure is not needed.

He's on the money with that reply. Fat girls like cake. Fat cars like gear. Gear can be interpreted a couple different ways. I vote for gear plus converter change.

Not gonna happen man. I know it would run allot faster but this not a max effort car by any means! Just looking for suggestions that could help knock a little off. My converter was built for my setup and is doing what I need it to. Was hoping some suspension work could help a little with the 60ft but if not, ill just stick to fine tuning. I only hit the track once with this setup so far also.

What about a set of coil overs? Soften the rears and stiffen the fronts for launch for better transfer and maybe you could launch harder? Afterwards set them back to the daily driving mode?

Why the TH400 and not the 4l80?? With the 4L you could go with more gear and still have OD for highway driving.

Money! Already had a built trans, and I like shifting it myself. That's a much more pricey swap, I am lucky I even have this car.

Mike, I'm curious, did you try launching the converter off idle, stalled up and different ways?

LOL or you can spray 125-150 as you sit and it will 60 (or spin like crazy).

Stock suspension is good for 9s, I'm gutting 1.60-1.62 60fts on my bolt-on car and want more also BUT BMR drag kit with the strange front struts and front sway bar will go in after the cam. My guess it'll help out very little but since I'm after every tenth I don't mind forking over $2,500 for it. I'm taking SlowTurtle's advice on the system but at this point I'm shooting for mid 11s with this setup main reason for waiting for more power to go on.

As mentioned above, if you are not going to change gearing or converter increase tire pressure a little at a time, you want a small amount of spin out of the hole. The car will rpm quicker resulting in a faster 60'.
