Going to be a new owner :)

Hey all!

This is my first post.... SO be gentle. Haha

Well I am trading in my P.O.S. 2005 Ford Five Hundred SEL for a Camaro 2LT. I will be doing this around Septemberish/Octoberish time frame.

But I want the Inferno with the Black Rally stripes. And living in South East, Connecticut- we don't have alot of camaros at the dealers.

So should I just order it from Chevy??? Has anyone ordered one from Chevy? I'm just nervous because this is the first new car I've bought. (I'm 22). And how long does it usually take to get the car from the time its ordered?

Thanks in advance for your help fellow Camaro'ers? haha

Yeah you have to go through a dealer...try to find one that has allocations left for the month, since it is close to the end of July, see if they have allocations for August. The sooner your allocation can be put in the sooner it can be built. Average now I would imagine is 2-3 months.

And it will be well worth the wait. This car is a blast to drive.

Welcome Bro,

I know this is a big step for any young person, I know where you are coming from. But, I as well am 22 and I've owned plenty of new cars(02 mustang, 06 civic, 07 mazda3) if you just manage your money. The Camaro is any 22 year old's dream car with the amount of power and the economy to go along with all the other features that you would want that include the latest technology, and most of all safety cuz GM makes rockets/tanks with wheels on them. You have to order through your local Chevy dealer, there is no other way to get em, atleast for the right price unless a dealer has on near you on the lot. But finding one on the lot is rare and costly because most likely the dealer will markup from MSRP by atleast 5k for a 2LT. PM me if you need any extra assistance with anything. This forum is the best but yet also most judgemental at times for people who are ignorant, YOU WILL BE CALLED OUT FOR ANY IDIOCY. So reasearch and lay low! Good luck.

To answer your question you do need a Chevy dealer. Richard Chev in Cheshire Ct. is highly recommended. I ordered mine there on 6/11 and got my allocation on 7/17. it is now at 3300 so I expect to have my car 5 or 6 weeks from now-(hope so anyway). if you want a car before winter I would order it now !.

Just a personal opion, but unless you like the flat black look (which is the way the black stripes aould come), I would go for the cyber grey metalic stripes. I can't tell you how many tell me that it turned out a much better decision than the black ones. Of course, keep in mind that I placed that order way befor I knew they were flat black. I"m just glad I did.

Dan, be sure that where ever you order it from, you get in at or below MSRP. I doubt that you will be able to get it below MSRP but if you can great and you will be the first person I have seen get it below MSRP (without using employee pricing or credit union discount or other programs). Also make sure that you have this agreement in writing. There are many people on this site that had verbal agreements and then when their car arrived, the dealer asked for over MSRP.

errrrrrrrrrr I think it is a very safe assumption that everyone ordered the Camaro from Chevy. Where else would you buy a new Camaro from?

Seriously now, get the CAMARO! IOM? even better! Goodluck and welcome to the madness.
