Oil Change Question

Just got my 2013 SS last week, had 300 miles on it from dealer trade and I guess test rides. My question is this the car was manufactured Nov 2012 so it is 15 months old, is it advisable to change the oil now or wait till the DIC tells me to.

The mileage was probably a lot of very short trips. At 15 months old, I would change it now. Don't forget to reset the Oil LIfe Indicator.

What does the oil change indicator say? I would ask the dealer if they changed the oil to make sure they haven't. It is supposed to be changed at least once a year regardless of mileage so I would say go ahead and do it. That could have been a hard 300 miles so I don't think it would hurt anything.

I would change as well, then go about 3000, and change again before going with the 5000 interval, but that just me, and many will give you different advice.

I would probably change it to be on the safe side personally. Have you looked at the oil? Pull out the dipstick and see what the color looks like. If it's golden brown like it was recently changed you might be able to get by for a little while. If it's a dark brown or even slightly black then change it.
