Is VIPER the best aftermarket alarm system for '10 Camaro?

Just wondering if the VIPER system with glassbreak and tilt sensor is considered the best aftermarket upgrade for the money. Seems to be the case but would appreciate feedback from those who've already had it installed in their Camaros. Thanks!

Well http://www.directed.com/is one company that markets there products with several brands. Including Viper. Need more than those 2 sensors and it MUST be 2 way paging or it's a complete wast of money. When your asleep it's not gonna do you any good without the beeper going off in the house.

It needs dual zone motion at least. With zone 2 set sensitive if you want to scare off vandals and wheel thiefs.

Also you'll probably want a pro install so as to not void GM warranty. They need to be DEI installers DYI might not cut it for warranty.

Piggyback it to Passlock with a DEI passlock interface. Add DEI battery backup for the brain and battery backup siren.

You have to program the valet mode. Pressing it once and starting does not work like the old alarms. That would be too easy to hotwire. Most new Vipers you can program from 1 to 5 combination.

LOL this guy. YOU have to program it not the installer. OMG

It's in the owners manual not the install manual.

And would you chill out because you better show your resume and establish your credentials before you start going after members.

I wouldn't install an aftermarket alarm. The factory alarm is more than capable to handle the task of protection. I've had aftermarket systems installed on a couple of cars that I bought and let me tell yea nothing but problems. Car wouldn't start, alarm going off just so many things that went wrong with it....

While doing research on alarms, I came across the CompuStar and CompuStar Pro series. They seem to be slightly more expensive than Viper, but reviews and ratings put them above Viper. When I asked a local dealer/installer about the CompuStar, he said he'd never heard of them, and that I needed to go with Viper which is the best. Which told me that he hadn't been doing his homework. Only problem with this alarm is that the only authorized installer is in Tulsa, about 200 miles from me. Don't mind traveling there, but don't want to have to travel there every time I might need warranty work.

Anyways, another alternative.
