Need Help, Borla or Stainless Works

Got ARH headers, now which mufflers? Borla S-Type or Stainless Works Straight Through Turbo Muffler? Here's a link to both:

http://www.stainlessworks.net/cart/p...roducts_id=543

http://www.borla.com/products/produc...e|%22S-Type%22

Sound Clips:

Borla (w/out headers):
http://www.camaro5.com/forums/showthread.php?t=30671
(will sound a lot louder and more aggressive with my headers)

Stainless (w/ headers):

I think I would go with the Borla's. I really prefer the sound of the Borla axle-back.
I would also consider the SLP products. They are an excellent bang for the buck in the Loudmouth II or the Powerflo series.
Always happy to help!!

He does have headers so the sound clips aren't a direct for comparison. I want an aggressive tone similar to Corsa, and Stainless sounds close to it.

Borla or corsa was only two I considered, they are hands down top two quality companies. I picked borla because the sound is a little louder and basically they were first to offer axleback, catback would be a waste since I am Also using the the ARH system.

Both systems sound good but Stainless Works to me sounds incredible! I am ordering mine this week and I can't wait.

Ya really depends on the sound your looking for. Deep and throaty get borla raspy and very agressive Stainless. You have to ask yourself do you want to be a bear or a grizzly!

I think the deeper, throaty sound of the Borla suits the Camaro better than the rasp. JMHO.

Check out Doug Thorley Catback in the exhaust clip thread. They make their own mufflers and the system sounds pretty sweet. On top of that, they are running group special that is 1/3 the price of those you are considering. No, I don't work or represent them...just trying to be helpful. Good luck.

I just ordered the Kooks full system complete that comes with the headers all the way back through mufflers for $2040 shipped to my door with the exact specs of the ARH and they sound awesome. I don't think you can beat the price with the performance that Kooks produces. I love the ARH but I got a whole system for about the same price and results.

I lean towards Borla because I've had two CBs on my last two Z28s and loved it. No drone. They were adjustable, but that was more due to the car design. I have a pair on my dad's '02 K1500 with some shorty headers and they drone a little, but I have the true dual exhaust exit just in front of the rear tire. No drone in my Z28s though - even with LTs.

So would you simply buy two of the borla "mufflers" shown in the link and replace the stock?
