Roll Control

I received a flyer from a local auto parts store (Baxter's) and they had a Roll Control. I called them up and asked if it would work on my car and he said it was universal and would work. Does anyone else have one of these installed? I call it a line lock, but they are calling it roll control. The manufacturer is Hurst. Any advice on this would be much appreciated.

The ZL1 manual already has this standard, they call it hill assist or something. It holds a parking brake when it senses you are on a hill so the car doesn't roll with the clutch in.

Well not the 2012.

But I guess I'm a little confused. What I would have called a line lock would have been to lock just the front for doing burn outs on the back.

I had the Hurst kit specific to the Camaro on mine until I burned up the solenoid and I just never reinstalled a new one. They do call their kit "Roll Control" but it's a line lock. It's completely different than the "Hill Assist" available on manual cars.

They work fine, but I find it easier to do my burnout the old fashioned way- some brake and some gas! I also found I ran better times without it on my car, but that could be due to the fact that the solenoid was malfunctioning and not releasing the brakes properly.

So the 2012 didn't have the hill assist? I'm still learning about these things.

I looked up the Hurst "roll control" and it is defiantly a new marketing attempt at a version of their good old fashion line lock. If you plan on drag racing it is a very good investment.

I have an M6 and find it hard to get a good burn out. I'm just not that coordinated I guess to slip the clutch and hit the brakes. I'm a tall guy with big feet lol. Is your car a manual or auto?

I have an auto, so in your case the Roll Control should be helpful. If you get the Hurst kit, get the one specific to the Camaro and not the universal version. I have thought about putting it back on, but I have other car mods to spend money on right now. Install is pretty straight-forward, just make sure all of your connections are tight.

I will tell you that the first time I used it at the track I made the biggest smoke cloud I've ever made. If I can find a pic on my home computer, I'll post it up!

He has an auto, there are several other posts about issues with line locks. I like the one I have which is a Hurst unit but it completely disables traction control as soon as you use it for a burnout. There are work arounds for that on some of the other posts on here but I never got anything changed with mine. It is a lot easier to do a burnout on a manual car with the linelock.

I have the Hurst from SJM.
They have a really slick kit with all the correct lines already bent to install.
Easy instructions and all the wiring.
Nice fit.
Yes a line lock will set off all your lights when you use it.
But when you shut the car off and wait a few minutes it resets.

My only regret with the hurst kit is not doing it sooner! But to answer your question it is not something that is universal. I bought mine at last years fest from Lethal.

Sure didn't, and I'm happier for it. If I buy another manual from GM, they'll have to replace that yaw sensor before I sign the paper work, ok, before I leave the lot, I'm sure they'll want me to pay for the car first.

Definitely would love to see that.

This is my first full burnout using the Roll Control. Let me just say that the back tires spun up a LOT fast than doing a normal burnout, hence the giant cloud of smoke! My before, during, and after shots!
