High RPM smoke
Ok guys I need some help.
Ok just got done getting my cats removed like 45 minutes ago.... Must say it sounds awesome!!! Only down side if when you get the rpms over 5K and let off the throttle uy poors smoke out , didn't do that before. You can smell fuel really bad. I was thinking we might have messed up a oxygen sensor or I have bad gas? Performance is way down like 0-50 in 9 seconds. I'm stoked on what it would be. And really need help. Only mods are a 228R cam, muffler delete, dyno tune and now no cats....... I had the question in the camarm issues part but didnt get any feed back figured i would get more here |

I think a real good place to start is to be talking to whom ever installed the cam and did the dyno tune. You're only going to get a bunch of opinions that more likely than not, are going to be of little value in getting your car running properly again.

well I installed the cam.....car ran fine besides the usual cam install with out tune..... Had it tuned and car ran even better..... Drove it for a week with no problems, Then had the cats gutted.... I think the poor performace was because the extra flow the exhaust had after driving it around it seems to straighten up..... Now a question for someone that tunes, Is it possible that i need to take it back and have them re-tune it for the cat's being gone? It's deff a raw fuel smell or would the cats being gutted not have that much of an effect on the tune?

I second that, take it to the tuner and have him check it out. It may need to be retuned due to the removal of the cats. Good luck.

When going from stock headers to LT's you need to tune it. I would think a cat delete would cause the same issues.
