Help for a nooby

So I recently got a 2014 1Ls with the 3.6 V6 motor. I am in the process of obtaining the catch can. After that, i was thinking of CAI but then realized would that even do anything without getting a ported throttle body to help the air flow better? Anyone else have suggestions on what can be done? not looking to spend a ton. BTW I got the car brand new from the dealer with around 60mi on it, just wondering if the "True" Break in period where the pistons learn to sit is now over? I read the break in thread here about doing hard accelerations for the first 500 or so miles. I'm at mile 215 in two days so was wondering if anyone had input on that. Thanks!

Catch can is a great move especially as your first mod.
CAI would be my second and I could tell a difference even before adding my ported TB. It would be my next mod though. I drive a 2012 LFX. V6.

Yeah I was thinking of getting This for a CAI
http://www.coldairinductions.com/che...oated-black-60
But I only really understand the basics of a TB so I don't really know what i'm looking for in that. What size, company or anything really. Would anyone have a recommendation?
Thanks!

You can do either one first, TB or CAI, I did them at the same time and it made a huge difference in throttle response and exhaust sound.

The CAI sounds awesome at WOT.

You may want to check the V6 LFX sub forums. There is some great info in there.

Vmax TB seems very popular. It's the one I bought. Lots of threads here about it.

Mine's an 8, but I'll second the "CAI sounds awesome at WOT" comment.
Super awesome in fact...

Many many opinions here, especially in favor of the CAI brand which is a bit pricey at $400. For $230 I installed the INJEN short tube cai and am very satisfied and I just installed the Vmax ported throttle body which most owners seem to favor. Two must have mods! If you can do the cai and the throttle body at the same time you will save yourself a few minutes of work, they are both a quick installs regardless. Good luck!

That looks super clean and nice, only thing i'm worried about is that tight elbow in the pipe, wouldn't that cause a lot of turbulence and mess with sensors?

Re: Volant. I have one and the bend is decieving. No problems, No codes, and if you choose the Donaldson Powercore filter, no oil, or replacement for 50-100k. Read up on the filter technology in the Donaldson Web site. It filters better than stock and had less restriction. Difficult to get both.

Agreed. The bend is not nearly as pronounced as it looks.

Awesome Thanks so much for your inputs. I keep coming up with thoughts. I was talking with a buddy that has a GT500 and he said that he obtained all of his parts through the ford dealer and had someone else put them on. None of these parts would void the warranty either because it was done through ford and ford racing. I was wondering does Chevy have anything similar? And also, If I do add the Ported TB and the CAI along with a possible tune, will the transmission/drive train handle the added power along with the clutch? Thanks again!

OP - Lots of Chevy Dealers sell and install our CAI for the Camaro, as well as other vehicles. A CAI, no matter what brand, will not affect your warranty, they simply will not warranty the CAI or any damage caused by it. Our CAI keeps the filter in the stock location, so water intrusion is not a concern which dealers like to see. As far as your TB, its not needed to add the CAI, and you'll see plenty of difference just with the CAI. If you do choose to get the TB ported/polished, I've read a lot of good feedback after doing so, especially when coupled with our CAI. Let me know if you have any questions, I would be happy to help.

And btw, we are made 100% in the USA, have a lifetime warranty, and have thousands of happy Camaro Customers
