Any decent products to reduce brake dust adherance?

Hi my rims are a pain to clean with the brake dust, and I do use already
Adams products to remove it. This works fairly well, but was hoping that
I can take off the tires and apply some kind of like silicon sealer to reduce
brake dust adherence. Hopefully this would make it easier to remove the brake dust, and reduce the amount of times needed to use more chemicals
for washing (not eliminate).
Also are there any kind of soft brushes (could be electric too) that you would recommend to get into the tight area's around the rims that need cleaning.

I've hear armor all does a pretty good job, they have a brake dust repellent and AMMO tested it and it looked pretty good.

Wheel woollies are amazing for all wheels. Carpro has them in small medium and large. Let's you get in the barrel and behind the spoke in the lip better!

And for the tire and fender well I use a brush from wallmart that looks like this. Just make sure the bristles are soft and not very rigid so you can fit it into really tight wheel wells.

As for actual products. I honestly have never had to use any wheel cleaner on my 1le/zl1 replica wheels I just have my small little 2gallon bucket of car soap that is serperate from my 2 buckets for my actual car wash.. When I rotate my tires(when I change oil every 4000 miles) I clean my whole wheel extremely well, clay it, seal it, and then wax it. And the I wax the face and the lip and try my best to wax back into the barrel periodically while they are still on the car.

I'm sure someone else will chime in for a great wheel cleaner but some I personally like are Sonax full effect and I haven't used it but I think Adams deep wheel cleaner was supposed to be great too.

This works extremely well for me on my replicas of your wheels!

Thanx, thats a good idea about clay bar and sealer/waxing the rims that should make removing the brake dust alot easier. I'll check into the brushes also.

I use speed master brushes and like them, just get all the nasty shit spraying up into my face from the bristles.

If you want to limit the brake dust's ability to adhere to the wheel's surface, you should either use a sealant or coating designed for that.

A great wheel sealant is Detailer's Wheel Glaze. This creamy formula applies thinly and prevents the caustic iron particles from penetrating the surface, making rinse away easier.

If you want to step it up a notch, consider coating your wheels in a nanoceramic glass coating, like Detailer's Wheel Coating. This will form a very thin, chemically-resistant "glass-like" layer on the wheel that is will eliminate brake dust from binding into the finish. In most cases, a strong jet of water will remove 80-90% of the brake dust, and regular soap and water will easily handle the rest.

I'm installing Hawk Ceramic Brake Pads this season, my SS only has 16K miles on it but I think that's the best solution.

The sealant holds up very well to high heat and detergents, and you'll be able to clean them with just shampoo and water for quite some time until the sealant begins to break down.

Since it's an aerosol, it's easy to apply, and it's not rally necessary to remove the wheels and tires to apply, let alone removing the tires from the wheels themselves. The aerosol ensures excellent coverage in all surfaces.

Already have this in my arsenal of cleaning material. I have a number of your products, we had a detailer in our area give a bunch of camaro owners a free clinic. I purchased that plus some othe items after the demo.

Nothing with the brand name Armor ALL has touched my cars for atleast 20 years.

It's all crap. I have a friend who worked at Volvo Corporate office in NJ and told me they tested armor all (original greasy stuff) on their dashboards and they ended up drawing the moisture out of the vinyl and making them crack premature.

Yeah I use to think armour all was the best product on the market until I bought my Camaro and started reading this forum. I have to give a lot of credit to both the readers here and the sponsor's who shed some light on how to take proper care for our cars. I'm fortunate to have a very understanding wife, who goes along with my obsession. But thinks were all a bit nuts.

Yeah a number of ZL1 owners are going that route. But at this point I only have 6500 miles on my car and I'm going to get some more use from them before I decide to switch.

I changed mine out a 5500 miles, the more I drove it the OEM pad issue just got worse.
