Cloth Cover or No

For the first time I do not have a garage for my car(divorced the male dead weight). 1SS Black/Man 6/sunroof/polished. Want to take BEST possible care of my SS, what are the pros and cons of the cloth covers. Thanks

If its gonna be outside you want a cover material that doesnt hold water but repels it. Also make sure the car is clean of all dirt when you put the cover on and keep the cover clean as possible. Black is gonna be a pain to keep nice. Just keep a good coat of wax on it to keep the paint protected.

Go to www.calcarcover.com
They have several to choose from and do a good job of telling you which cover you need based on storing inside or out.

I just ordered one from them but for indoor storage.

I got the Noah Car Cover from California Car Cover (link in post above). Works great for the few times I've used and it fits the car perfectly.

+1. Got mine from UPS yesterday. Arrived just in time too, as I had just finished claying & Zaino-ing him. Fits great and was really easy to put on.

I reccomend you don't use a car cover esspecially for a black car sitting outside. This is what you will run into. if the car is freshly washed no problem however you will be driving it and it will get the local smog and dust then you put the cover on it for the night, you now have fine scraches on the car and they will really show up on the black car. If you have an over night rain or heavy dew, what are you going to do with the car cover because it will be wet and will end up mildewing because you will have to roll/fold it up. The car cover will continue to get dirty from dust etc and then there is the wind which starts the car cover flapping eventhough they fit snug it will still wear on the paint. You will get tired of this whole process in a hurry.
If you take care of the car, wash it once a week or so and wax it at least twice a year you will have more fun and still have an awsome looking car.

I only use a car cover for winter storage, or if there is some project going on in the garage that I need to protect the car from.

Most covers let dust through after a while.

I got solutions for you I've owned a jet black BMW myself and it was kept outside with a custom fit car cover. They make clay bars for fine scratches and other gunk that sticks to the paint. They make outdoor car covers that prevent mildew and moisture build up. That car has been through hail, sever storms, heat, bird crap just to name a few coverd up outside and it still looked like it came off the show room floor. No worries about the wind too, as long as it's custom fitted and snug you should have no problems.
