Headers

Hi took care of some expenses and will have some spare cash in the future. I sold TSP headers last week that looked really great but a friend has Stainless Works headers on his SS and I was wondering about the Stainless Power their lower brand for install. Any issues with fitments or finish.

Not at all. They are a direct copy of the Stainless Works headers (they simply knocked themselves off before someone in China did). They fit and perform just as well. In my opinion they are the best bang for your buck header option available for these cars.

I have them on my car, fit like a glove. I have no issues at all with the product, the fit, the sound. I went catless with GMPP/ Borla S type axleback and its throaty as hell. I get quite a few compliments on the sound.

The Stainless Power headers are good, but there are a few minor details with them that separate them from the actual Stainless Works headers. The flanges are different, the welds are not quite as clean, the terminations in the collector are not as flush and a lot of the time the merge spike is slightly crooked. They also only come with a 2 year warranty vs lifetime.

Still, all in all they are a great bang for the buck and I would recommend them to anyone looking for a budget set of headers. But if you are looking for top tier quality, you'll have to pay for it.

Feel free to call, PM or email me anytime with questions.

Best regards,

Tyler

I have installed 3 sets of the SP headers on other peoples cars and will put them on my own car when it arrives ( have them in the box in the back room of the shop ) . All 3 sets fit perfect no rub or clearance issues and did not leak anywhere. I did notice that the welds did not look quite as smooth and pretty as the 1 set of Kooks I installed for a friend a year ago . I also noticed some ( not all )of the merge spikes were very slightly crooked ( very, very minor ) . All in all for a sub $700.00 set of headers with cats I do not see how you could go wrong or do better for the money . One hell of a Great bang for the buck with out a doubt . IMHO if you are hung up on cosmetics and life time warranty then pony up the extra $$$$$ and get the Kooks ,Stainless Works or ARH headers . Bottom line the SP headers work well ,sound great ,fit great and are right in there ( within 4 or 8 HP )power wise with all the rest .

Well I've seen crooked merge spikes, dirty flanges, crossed threaded bungs and primaries crushed where it was pushed into the merge spike.

Never seen anything except slightly crooked merge spikes . No matter the brand I always chase the threads on the bungs and O2 sensors B4 installing the O2's. You would be surprised how many O2's are cross threaded into the factory exhaust manifolds right from Chevrolet. You try and install the cross threaded O2's into new headers and you screw up the O2 bung too .

I have SP's and they are great. I know above youre talking about merge collectors being crooked and banged, but is that really going to affect performance on a daily driven car? No.

Well great. The good reviews makes me feel better, plus the Vendor that sold them to me told me no one who bought them has returned them or complained after install which means a lot to me.
