Very little bass.
So I had a 2011 2RS with factory boston acoustics stereo system in it. Sounded pretty good for a stock system. Traded it in not to long ago for a 2010 2SS. Same system in it. Sounds ok but half the bass with the EQ set up similar to how I had in the 11 RS. I looked up under the rear deck through the trunk and saw the 2 speakers sitting there. Is there supposed to be some kind of cover or baffle over the speakers that someone might have removed?? I'm just thinking some kind of cover etc would ad to the bass. Or are the stereos a little different between 10 and 11?

There is not supposed to be a cover.
A cover might help a very small amount if it was acoustically tuned, but this would be cost prohibitive. Those speakers, the 6x9's do not produce bass, but rather a midbass frequency. You are better off Dynamatting the rear shelf, and adding subs and an additional amp

I had this frustration one day.
Was jamming, and noticed that the bass level sucked. Turns out I just had the 'fade' setting too far to the front seats. It was at this moment that I realized that each input (radio/CD/Ipod/aux) has it's own EQ settings. May want to check that your fade isn't too far to the front for whatever input you're using. I know it's kind of like saying 'is there gas in the vehicle' when you ask 'why won't my car start', so I don't mean to insult, but I felt dumb as hell once I realized this. Could be your issue? I don't get booming bass, but I get mostly good enough for my listening preferences |

No worries! I didn't know that. I will definitely check that out. I did set the EQ settings on it when I got it. Probably to the radio. But never checked it in the other modes. Figured it was set. Appreciate the info.

this can have a lot to do with the compression algorithm. It also has to do with dedicated drive systems vs. satellite systems. The same song on a cd will almost always sound better than the same song on the radio when played on the same system in the same environment. Although this is becoming less and less of a problem as compression algorithms continue to improve. This can also be because you are using AUX, the same song on the same MP3 player would sound better going through a USB
