From Altima sedan 2.5 SL to 2014 Camaro LT2 RS.

Guys i need help deciding if I should switch from my 2013 altima 2.5 SL to a V6 camaro. I have been driving altimas for about 5 years and I love those cars. They are very practical, they have a "sporty" feel and are fun to drive but even my most recent altima seems to lack a certain thing, personality, vibe, i don't know. I am happy with my altima but whenever I see a sports car I can't stop looking at it and specially the camaro. It's big wheels and tires, it's sound (yes the V6, V8 is amasing but i like the V6 for me), it's style and sharp curves, hell i could go on and on regarding my opinion of the car, and i have wanted a 2 door car for a while now.

Have you made that transition or know someone who did from a 4 doors 2.5 2013 Altima (or other year) to a V6 Camaro?

Since both cars are very different i'm having a hard time deciding, I would keep both if I could but i don't need to have 2 cars; although i'm more inclined towards the camaro for now. If it hand't been for the stop sales order/recall i would be driving one now and maybe wondering if i did the right thing.

Thank you for your comments i will appreciate opinions and shared stories.

By the way, lets not consider the practicality of 4 door sedans as a factor since most of the time i drive alone or with my wife and the trunk is only used when we get visitors from out of town, for which we have an SUV that does that job even better.

Well for me, I loved Chevy's all my life. And I had other cars, Tacoma, Accord, civic etc and it never made me feel complete like how I feel when I'm in a corvette or camaro. It's apples and oranges but if you love Chevy's or if you're familiar with them then it's a no brainer. Test drive a few camaros, it's completely different from an altima.

Thank you for your quick replies. I should have mentioned that I have never had a Chevrolet myself but I'm well aware of their reliability. And I have test drove a few v6 and SS camaros. What worries me is the long run. Hoping I won't regret getting out of my comfort zone.

Camaro is a rock solid car compared to the Nissan. I owned a 1LT V6 2010 Camaro before buying my SS recently.

I sold the 2010 because it was outdated and didnt suit my needs really as a single man. However, it is a good car for new married couples maybe with one or two children. The fuel consumption will suit your budget and you will enjoy the ride for sure.

I dont see the Altima topping the Camaro in anything.

I had the V6 for 5 years with all kinds of bolt-ons in the market with no issue at all. Just the normal oil service so I cant understand your worries !!

A V6 Camaro is going to be similar to an Altima in terms of fuel efficiency and value, so it shouldn't affect your pocket much. However, though I've never driven an Altima, I'm sure the driving feel will be much different. These cars are incredibly well-made and comfortable and powerful for the price, so I'm guessing you'll find it a joy to drive. It'll definitely be a power increase over an Altima. However, you're going to have to get comfortable with the visibility. How you set your mirrors is crucial as this is a particularly difficult car to park and maneuver due to the lousy mirrors.

There will be upsides and downsides - the only way to know is to test drive the vehicle! It takes some getting used to to drive, so if you like it initially, it only gets better from there as you learn how to drive and maneuver it. I'd say try an SS, but that'll be a big difference in cost in fuel and the initial purchase, so if you are perfectly happy with an Altima, you may find the V6 more suiting your needs.

But it's hard to drive an SS and not buy it, so you may as well test one of those, too!

While not an Altima, I did go from a 2008 Saturn Aura XE V6 to a Camaro 2SS RS. No regrets at all.

Since you have a SUV, trade in that Altima! You won't regret it.

I traded my 2011 Dodge Charger Mopar11 for my Camaro and have zero regrets. By all means, knock yourself out! Altimas are for old ladies driving to church on Sundays.

Well all that info definitely clears things up a lot! Thank you for all the information now I know i'm making a good decision, it's just a matter of how things get worked around the stop delivery issue and if the dealer doesn't use the recall as an excuse to back down on the deal we had.

Thank you guys!
