Move the motor over

Can you move the motor over? Have a clearance problem with my headers and before I start grinding frame rails I would like to see if I can shift the motor over. Have plenty of room on driver side but none non pass side.

Yes, you can loosen up the motor mounts and slide the motor over.

Cool! Is it just the ones from the bottom in the cradle or are there more?

Once raised pull motor over as far as possible to the right side of the car and wedge a piece of wood between the left side header collector and the frame. Let engine down and tighten the engine mount nuts, and them remove the wood wedge. This should provide the additional clearance needed to clear." Now I have to find how much this will cost to do...or is a dimple a better choice. Will the dimple affect performance or is it a coating issue where it may rust later? Thanks for the help!

2" Tsp's will sometimes hit depending on how the motor is sitting from the factory. You can either move the motor over a tad or out a dent in the header. Either way is fine, doesn't affect performance and nobody will see a dent in your header.

I dimpled the header a bit, but still have some rubbing when turning. We have had the motor in and out several times over the years and just think it has shifted to the pass side. I have like an 1.5" on the driver side so going to move it over and try to center it a bit more. Thanks for the replys everyone let you know how it goes this afternoon.

Well tried moving the motor over and no luck. Still right on the frame. Guess it's coming back out and getting the BFH. This sucks!

This is a potential issue for LT's of 1 7/8in and larger. The bigger the pipes, the more potential for issues.

Yeah I can't complain too much, picked up almost 15 rwhp going to 2" no cats from 1 7/8" with cats, while also dropping a pound of boost. I just hate having to fiddle around with these little things.
