florida hwy patrol Camaro discrimination!!

So I'm driving home from my anniversary dinner with my wife. I decided to drive the Camaro to Miami. Well on the way home after stuffing my face at dinner, I had a huge stomach ache so I was praying I would make it to a rest stop. Well low and behold I am driving 84 in a 65 and there he was on my tail!! lights flashing I pull over, I already had my dl ins and registration in my hand. This is at night btw. I told the officer my wife didn't feel good, he remained stoic asking for my license and registration even though I had it in my hand hanging out the window. He flashes his flashlight at my front wheels then the rears and says your rear tires have no tread. I said oh they shouldn't be I only have 3800 miles he looks again with his flashlight then aims in my car and says maybe because you drive on a race track they are worn out. He obviously saw my harness bar. He then left for like 10 minutes and returned with a $260speeding ticket. great night. Should have took the Lexus!!

I love it when im driving on the frwy, and the motorcycle cops driving from the inland empire to their work in LA at 85 mph. And they have the balls to give speeding tickets,hypocrites...i hate cops.

Piece of advice, don't grab your paperwork UNTIL the cop is at your window and can see you, especially at night! It probably put him on edge from the get-go.

Maybe I am missing something but where is the discrimination? You were going 19 over the speed limit, got pulled over (rightfully so) and received a ticket. Again, what am I missing?

Light hearted on the "discrimination". if I would have been in the Lexus maybe the car wouldn't be so focused on. I only wanted the license out because I didn't feel god! Wanted to speed up the process. Definitely going to have less chance of getting out of a ticket in a loud Camaro with a harness bar

There is a time and place for the cops, but they aren't above the law anymore than you are, and for them to give a ticket for what they all do is hypocritical!

Stay with +11mph of the posted speed limit and you'll be fine.

20 or over is criminal speeding in AZ. Totally sucks man about the ticket, I am pretty sure you'd be pulled over under the same circumstances even if a minivan was also going 84 next to you, just my opinion.

Even though the cops may drive 85 on a somewhat regular basis doesn't mean it's ok for the rest of us, safest bet is 10-12 over without standing out in a performance car like ours. Hell, I go 9 or less, over posted hwy limit all the time, just isn't worth it... Let everyone else get the coupons.

Also, I think by pulling your lic, dl, and ins card out was a good thing, cops don't like you fumbling thru compartments in your car with your hands out of plain sight and especially at night.

Hopefully you can take a class so it's not a ding on your insurance. Be safe and have fun out there.

There were a few counties in Georgia some time last year that were being accused of "profiling" against dodge chargers, challengers, chevy camaros, and i think one other car for what people thought was either singling out sports cars and some went to the extreme of saying racial profiling. I do believe some cops single out sports cars. If they cant catch you speeding, theyll pull you over for some other illegal modification (taillight tint, window tint checks, exhaust sound levels) just so they can harass you and abuse power.

In your instance, however, you were speeding and I believe rightfully pulled over... even though you were feeling ill.

You was speeding stop crying about it. I was pulled over driving cross country in Texas for going 3 miles over the speed limit. And I'm a cop. I didn't complain because I was still in the wrong.don't bash cops they have a hard job.a thankless job.u should say thank you.
