Sawgrass Ford's attempt to "fix" a Mustang.

If you know any Ford guys in Sunrise, FL, make sure they now about this.

Unreal. and yet another example of why dealerships/stealerships have such a bad reputation. This is one guy with a dash cam. Imagine how much of this crap happens and nobody knows.

the language the technicians was using is out of line.

however driving around at high RPMs is a legitimate repair procedure for dealing with carbon buildup.

They are supposed to use a chemical treatment first, that's the recommended method by Ford IIRC

I'm interested to see how this one plays out. He definitely caught them on camera doing something they shouldn't be doing, and he has over $10K in mods on that car.

I was an ASE certified technician back in the late 80's early 90's. I can tell you right now, that chemical treatment was what we had to do. We were NOT allowed to beat the crap out of an engine and destroy a transmission in hopes it shook some carbon loose.

These guys should be fired, and the dealership held responsible for ALL of his damages, and while they're at it, lose their accreditation with Ford.

You have to be gentle with those Mustangs. They're fragile.

Well, even if that is the case you can see they were not treating this car with any respect. If that was the recommended procedure they could have told the owner to do this. Then, he could have drove around at 5000rpm himself.

Also, you hear later on in the video that they were gonna just lie and tell the owner that they adjusted the cams when in fact they were going to do nothing. Typical for a lazy unqualified tech who takes no pride in what they do.

What they should have said was we don't know how to fix your issue, however we will escalate the issue to the engineers at Ford so they can make a recommendation. However, that requires work, troubleshooting and additional follow-up all of which are incomprehensible to a lazy ass jerk. They should all be fired but unfortunately the managers are probably just as bad. Sounds like it is time to clean house at this shop.

Here is the dealerships Facebook page. We should all say hi. Even though it was a Mustang, this really pisses me off.

Looks like they posted this to their facebook page:

"To the customer on the video, we sincerely apologize, we would like to extend you the offer of purchasing your car at retail price, allowing you to keep the aftermarket parts."

Sure. They are in damage control mode now. Small price to pay to keep the owner quiet.

To risk messing up an engine, hell I'll pay for that $20 chemical. And I don't even care for mustangs!

Going past redline. Do that to a Lamborghini! I dare you! You'll probably have 5 lawyers knocking at your door the next morning.
