rear end and launch control

I know for a fact that the rear ends on 4th gen f bodies were weaker than sin, and I heard that carried over into 5th gen, but than I heard Chevy made some changes in 13 or so.. Is that true? Are the parts stronger now than they were before? I ask because I used launch control the other day and I don't want to commonly use it if my chances of snapping something are high.

I also heard that launch control sucks. I'm new to manual so any tips on how to launch for max 0-60 times?

Tip: only you will learn how to launch your car properly. Take it out and let the car speak to you.

In my Challenger she likes to be launched low but aggressive. It's the wonders of a manual transmission.

Launch control isn't the fastest way to 60, but it's usually the best way to get consistent times.

I've never gotten a 0-60 that was close to the advertised number, i'm guessing they somehow get the perfect conditions and perfect driver to do those.

Launch control will usually result in something of a smoke show for me, but no matter how I launch I always seem to get some wheel spin right off the line.

Slip the clutch. Revs between 2000-2500. Dont drop the clutch...come off of it about a 1/3 and give more gas as you let out the clutch more until fully engaged. It'll take some time to figure out but thats the best way to get good 0-60 times if thats what you are concerned about.

Can I ask how you accurately know what the time are and in what competitive situation you are in that they focus on the 0-60 times? Most want to learn to launch to get a better 60' time

I agree with this method, it works pretty well for me. Don't be afraid to use that clutch.

I also agree that there isn't really much point in testing your 0-60mph times, they don't really mean anything in the real world.

Even my buddies 335i hangs with me pretty close to 60 since it takes so little time, although after that he won't be with me for long.

The 1LE does come with higher capacity rear axle half shafts over the standard SS. Also with the gearing you need to go 0 - 70, so you can enjoy 2nd gear some!

I only say 0-60 because I use a huge private lot nearby that acts as a great strip, granted it's much shorter. I just realistically wanna know how to get the greatest launch. So use launch control for consistent times, and feather it for the most efficient. that'll definitely take some practice from me. Thanks for all your input.

Consistent...but also slower than the other method
