need help asap on how to remove hood insert
My dad is having his car clear bra'd and wanted to have the insert removed and put the clear material under the insert to protect from the insert rubbing paint off hood and the installer needs to know how to remove the insert. They have removed the 8 bolts and it wont come any ideas? also whats the torque spec for the nuts?
Thanks Brett

Just for fun, I want to plasti-dip the insert red to see how it would look against the black paint, but I don't want to damage the insert! I have pulled and pryed fairly hard, but the clips are holding tight. |

the whole front end, hood, front fenders. I don't think it needs to be removed imo.

I want to remove it to plasti-dip paint it, and I don't want to paint it while it is on the car. I want to plasti-dip it so that I can decide if I want to do something more permanent.

4 clips underneath the hood.I would advise you to go buy a pry tool so you don't damage the finish and it gives you better leverage when prying. Try it you won't "hurt" the car.

I have a body moldings pry tool set.
I see the 4 clips under the hood. Just not sure what to see / expect once those are out. Tony

I would like to know how this is done as well....
BUT I had my entire ZL1 wrapped and while my installer did a horrible job on 90% of the car...he was able to go around the hood vent good enough for me. |

Just got mine done.
Took a 10mm socket, extension, ratchet and my fingers. Probably spent 15 mins start to finish. PM me if you guys have questions. Tony

the pry tool is a good suggestion because the foam seal around the periphary tends to get stuck a bit when trying to remove the 4 push fasteners.
