How many Quarts does she drink?

Hit 1,000 on the Odometer and figured it's time for my baby to get her first drink of good ol' Mobil 1 Synthetic (Shaken, not Stirred of course)

Quick question, how many quarts does the V6 take?

I've heard 4,6 and 8 quarts being thrown around.

Dude, don't you have an owner's manual in your glovebox? The time it took you to get on the Internet, come here, type in this question, and then wait for a response, you could have just looked in your owner's manual.

Quite honestly, I'd rather take advice from the fine people here who have actually gone through the process than rely on the owners manual.

I've had alot of manuals in the past that had typos/wrong specs.

FYI: The time it took you to get on the Internet, come here, read my question, and type in your criticism, you could have just.....done something more productive, like drinking a beer.

No worries, man. I have never had a manual be wrong on the amount of oil...just seem strange to come here when you have it in front of you. 6 qrts and a filter that looks like a Tylenol bottle. That's it.

Mobil 1, Mobil 1 EP, Pennzoil Platinum, or Pennzoil Ultra would be fine choices, and would last well for however long the OLM tells you. While Synpower and other off the shelf syn oils are good, the UOA's posted show they don't perform so well after 7,500 miles, and your OLM will go well beyond that.

The botique brands (Amsoil, Redline, Royal Purple), while great oils, will void your warranty. If that is not a concern of yours, then I would choose one of them...Amsoil would be my choice. Now, being that you have the V6, you could run the Amsoil XL and be good with your warranty. UOA's show that it is an outstanding oil and would serve you well.

At least for the SS, the owner's manual doesn't provide the amount of oil to use. I've looked through it several times and couldn't find it.

Edit: Let me re-phrase my statement. I didn't see the amount of oil to use in the owner's manual for the SS. I assume it's in there, though.
