I'm new here.

Hi guys my names David and I currently drive a 09 Cobalt SS turbo. I'm looking to get a 5th gen between the years 10 and 12 don't want one of the newer ones don't like them. So what I'm starting this thread to say is what should I look for when buying a Camaro; how many miles, year, dealer or prvt ect. Hopefully you guys can help me finalize my purchase thanks.

2012 brought better suspension (FE4), interior upgrades, previously RS only tailamps are now standard and that's what comes off the top of my head.
Standard thinking is buy the newest, nicest, lowest mileage one you can afford. Emphasis on afford, or your personally imposed spending limit.

Any reason you don't want a 13? They have the same tail lights as the 12.

I think the 13' are the best year....

Best of all the pre 13' stuff including better suspension.

But I'm biased.... lol

I want the Camaro before the tail light change. If the 13 didn't change them then I'll go with that to.

I would suggest looking at the '13s as well. There are plenty of them out there w/ low miles and in great shape. There are even a few "new" ones still hanging around for great prices. The newer the better but rule anything out until you feel you've seen all you need to see.

Take your time. Don't fall in love with the first one you see (although it will be difficult). Stay away from heavily modded cars unless it just everything you've ever wanted. Ask for receipts for any mods done by shops and be sure to get some sort of warranty - again, the newer the better. Even if you get one from a private sale, insist on some sort of mechanic's inspection and significant test drive pre-sale. If it was bought locally, ask the dealership if there have been any issues with the car.

Tail lights changed in 2014... but let's not get into that discussion.

So I think I will expand my horizon to the 13 as well but I think I'm gonna stick with a dealer because I'm looking to do all my mods myself with LMR (Late Model Racecraft). Thanks for all the replys.
