So frustrated

I installed my new exhaust tips today and they look fantastic. The only thing that has bothered me for about 3 months now is when I remote start my car from the back, I can hear a flutter/buzzing sound coming out through the exhuast tips. Ever since I removed the secondary cats I got this sound. I really dont want to add them back because I love how it sounds inside. When Heard from outside tho, the exhaust makes this buzzing/flutter sound around 1800-3000 rpm. I dont know if it makes it through out the RPM range becuase my mom doesnt really like to drive over 3000 rpm when I ask her to drive it. Anyways, At idle I also hear like a ticking sound but usually goes away when warm, but when I turn on the air conditioning it comes back. I tried getting videos but the video doesnt pick it up. I have the maganflow resonated x pipe with muffler, resonator and rear cat delete so im not sure what can be causing this. Ive taken it many times to make sure I have no leaks and I dont. This is the reason I want to purchase the MRT 1 but im not sure if the sound will go away. Help me

Sounds like a good reason to buy and install some solo high flow cats.

Is it vibrating against anything? Check along the entire exhaust with it cold, of course. Look for anything close enough to tap against. Check your hangers, too.

Perhaps the issue can be eliminated by installing the Solo Jpipes. It is tunable to remove noises in that rpm range. That preserves the muffler delete sound you are after.

The fact that it goes away when warm points to something that doesn't fit right when cold, but eases when hot. I know you've had one guy check for a leak. Take it to another. And look for the things I mentioned above.

Alright thanks guy. Ive looked at the hangers and they are good, Ill take it to another shop to get there opinion. I pulled the trigger for the MRT 1, if the sound does not get solved, I will invest on some solo high flow cats or J pipes. Maybe Ill buy them together. Lets see what happens.

for what you are describing i doubt j-pipes would do anything for that. can you take a video of this fluttering noise you are talking about?

Sure its not vibrating against the heat shields? I get that when i turn the AC on sometimes. Also check the heat shield around the starter.

I'll try to get a video as soon as I can, hopefully I can figure out what the problem is. My friend is going to help me Sunday and see what he thinks. We will lift the car up and see if its not hitting against anything.

http://youtu.be/pVxiMItGbD4 I trimmed the video where you can here the flutter/bzzzz sound.... I asked my mom to go up to 3k rpm to pinpoint where the sound is made at the rpm range and it seems to be between 1000-2000, which I thought was between 2k-3k. That would explain why I hear the zzzzzzzzz sound on cold start and warm start.

I'm glad I'm not the only one, hopefully they do. If they don't, then I'll add back the rear cats.
