New Edelbrock E-force lid
Hi guys, gday from down under. Does anybody know if the new E-force lid makes anymore power and lower IATs than the old flat lid ? Seems to be much better designed now with a nice curved lid for smoother airflow similar to the heartbeat lid. Just wondering whether it is worth upgrading as they are pretty pricey !

Hello, and welcome to C5, you realize that you posted your question at 1:40am. Give it some time.
I'm not trying to discourage you from finding your answers, just trying to help you understand that sometimes, it takes a little while for feedback to come on a new product, especially when your asking in the middle of the night.

Would have to ask Edelbrock, but I believe the lid is 100% aesthetic. No performance increase or changes on the inside.

It does add a tad of performance not sure that its from IATs cause the air moving quicker and its not heating up as much or if from Heatsoak relief. I had an eldelbrock those guys at eldelbrock always answer ask them to get the facts
Best bet is to do the AFCO heat exchanger, a larger reservoir in the trunk, and meth dual nozzel kit. you'll be using the meth purely for cooling it probably give you another 85 hp if setup right. This will cost some money but I still think its cheaper than starting over unless your trying to get to 800 plus.. which won't happen with that blower. The exchanger is 650.00 if your a wise shopper this is with cooling fans Larger trunk mount reservoir with a good pump sump style pump 500.00 Larger trunk mount reservoir with coils or some type of cooler w fins inside the tank to dump ice on while leaving the system closed so your not constantly draining or messing with the system by adding contaminants from bagged ice plus no air, no worries of small ice cubes getting clogged ect.. 1500.00 The meth kit with the larger capacity tank is around 1000.00 That eforce system feels strong as hell until the car gets hot doesn't it? I saw as much as a 80 rwhp difference when the car got hot.. Felt like I didn't even have a blower on the car. The things I mentioned will give you the feeling all the time..

Thanks for the reply , the car currently makes around 600rwhp on e85. It is definitely stronger when colder but running on e85 it stays strong even when hot. I just want to get the IATS down. I just fitted a rotofab CAI today instead of the stock air box and I have a larger PWR heat exchanger on its way. I also fitted a faster flowing water pump. I think all these things will help and I want to fit some blower spacers to stop the engine heat getting into the blower.

I put the new style cover on last winter. It is much taller than the original one...seems like more air can get in. After a lengthy drive in 80 degree weather (which is pretty warm for this part of the country) I can pop the hood and put my hand on the lid and it's just warm...I can keep my hand on it and not get burned. With the old lid I couldn't even barely touch it it was so hot. I've never really experienced heat soak w/ my car w/ either lid because of the relatively cool climate here. The new style coil covers are vented also so they don't trap heat like the old design.
