Thinking of getting an LS

I want the SS, but can't afford it. So I think what I want to do is buy the LS, and then strip it down over time and replace it with better parts for the long run (i.e. drivetrain, brakes, suspension, etc.) Has anyone done this already? Any thoughts? Thanks all.

Loving MY LS as a stock daily driver.
Save some more and buy the SS?I don't see how buying the LS and stripping it will save you money.

I'm a fan of buying what you want... with some some delayed gratification.

Consider a used SS, dare I say a rental or fleet car or save for an extra year...

If you buy the LS, then upgrade the drivetrain (with new components) -you could very well spend twice as much as it would cost to buy a SS.

I love the LS. They always look cool and are pretty rare. Why tear up a perfectly good new car ? You would be lucky to make it any better than an SS anyway. Save up and get what you really want new or used.

The LS is a great value and still a kick in the pants to drive. You've got 312hp and with an intake and and exhaust upgrade you can probably get at least another 10hp. I love mine and right now can't think of why I would need an SS. Now if I came into some money I would have both and save the SS for my weekend driver.

Ultimately its your dime and has to fit your needs but if you want a Camaro you will NOT be disappointed with the V6.

Get the SS if you want the SS. I wanted the V6. And the V6 is sweet. But it won't be what you want. Save and get a V8.

A used 1SS. I have put +45,000 on my 1LS and I'm still in love with my Camaro. Of course it's a daily driver.

Last time I had my oil changed at the dealer, I wandered around and checked out the SS-Beautiful car, but I'm so glad I got my LS-there's just NOT that much difference from what I can tell, other than more HP-I can add custom stuff as I want to and when I can afford it.

A drivetrain swap might be in the future for my LS. I think we're on the same page.

The LS ROCKS but if it's not what you want, don't get it as you will always have regrets... There should be NO regrets with this car...
