Track Day at Homestead

My Dad and I got to spend some quality time together on the racetrack with my 1LE yesterday. Had tons of fun and got to play the role of instructor as my Dad had never been on a road course before. It was a sold out event so there was some traffic to deal with, but we ended up getting plenty of open track at the end of the day. He had tons of fun and we both enjoyed not having to worry about flashing lights when rowing through gears.

Car ran like a champ all day and we passed ALOT of drivers/cars. Ended up heating up the exhaust quite a bit, which caused one of the connections between my headers and NPP to loosen and come out. (pics below) If only I had a place to fix this stuff myself, $200 at the dealer to get it put back on and tightened. Guess you gotta pay to play.... more on this topic below.

Had an absolute blast at the track with my Dad only to drive home and forget that I had let air out of the tires 27-28 cold which made for a really expensive parking job. After unpacking the car and showering to get ready for dinner I almost completely ripped off my front clip backing out of my spot because the splitter got caught on the parking lip that I usually clear with my fully inflated tires. I can't even stand to take a picture of it because it looks terrible. Imagine the front clip bent up about 20 degrees looking like a demolition derby car. I hate that I cannot back my car into my spot because condo association will report it and tow it. Already have the new front clip on order and will take it in to body shop when it arrives. My modding budget is now gone.

Ironic that I did more damage in my own parking lot than on the racetrack...

I'm gonna craft something to run over and stop me before I hit my lip again and rip off this new front clip.

Here's some pics at the track and the leaky exhaust connection:

I bet that's a fun track. I would be leary of going all out in turns with a wall keeping you in check.

Looks like a fun day for sure... Exhaust really heats up on a road track. You'll be good to go next time. Dot 4 brake fluid is a must too.
