Range device issue/rant

Well have the device and yes it works as it is designed and no complaints there. But who is the engineering genius that put the light in it. My car is a sunny day toy and may sit for a week between drives. That means a dead battery unless you unplug it. If I unplug it every time I use car before long it will just fall out of the plug. The light is completely and totally useless. I'm tempted to dismantle the device and remove the light, what a pain in the ass!!!!

Tune your car now. You will wonder why you did not do it a long time ago.

I only unplug if the car is going to sit for more than 24 hours.

Plugging in a device to your OBD II port to improve your driving experience is a mod. The range thing isn't cheap and you get glitches. A tune isn't that expensive and you get a new/better performing glitch free car. It's worth every penny, and there are no issues to rant about when tuned properly.

There are hand held tuning devices that can be used just to disable the AFM feature without loading any other tune features that come with the tuner if it concerns you. Then, nothing has to be plugged in to the OBD port constantly. That is my main concern with the Range device. That would worry me much more that just using a hand held and disabling it......done. Of course you can turn it back on any time you felt the need.

The key with the range device guys is that it supposedly doesn't flash the ECM, leaving no evidence of a tune that may impact warranty work
