Need info on the ZL1 A8 trans & LT4? - Camaro5 Chevy Camaro Forum / Camaro ZL1, SS and V6 Forums

Hi guys been a member for a while just lurking, I have owned several versions of the Corvette C5, C6 and ordering the new C7 Z06 with A8 trans, so I am a GM gearhead and always loved the ZL1 and now I am seriously thinking about getting one. A few questions that maybe you can answer and sorry in advance if these questions may have been answered in other posts. If so please send me the link. BTW some awesome ZL1s in this forum. I need an auto due to a Bum right shoulder.
Will the 2016 Model have an option for the new A8 transmission?
Will there be any big changes for the 2016 model?
Will GM start installing the LT4 in the ZL1 In 2016?
When will the 2016 models start showing up or when will orders be taken by GM?

Thanks in advance looking forward to a new ZL1 in the near future then let the Mods begin.

It hasnt been revealed yet. It is all speculation at this point.

everybody wants that info. It will be similar info as the CTSv has had a reveal. Speculation only the Camaro will be the same...just an educated guess.

If it is anything like the CTS-V it will be amazing......

Probably a year or two before we see anything but the base models, but the concensus is that an 8spd auto and lt4 could be in the works. Maybe they will surprise early but doubtful based on history.

I would expect to see the 8 speed trans on the 2016, they already are using it in the 2015 Silverado.

The A8 will be the auto trans in the 16 Camaro. The LT4 will be in the top Camaro just like the CTSV.
