HALO light use withOUT headlights on

Please explain how to turn on the HALO lights only without headlights on the RS models

Also, is there any way to turn on the Daytime Running Lamps (fog lights) manually in the RS models?

thanks!

To turn on halos only, turn headlight switch all the way to left and release (spring loaded). You will see message like "auto headlights disengaged". Then click switch one click to right.

There is no way to manually do anything with the DRL's except turn them off as noted above. (they turn off when you disengage auto lighting)

Yup. If you twist all the way to the left first, I believe you shut off the twilight sentinel feature.

At least I think that's what they (used to?) call it. It's the feature that flips your headlights on when it's dark enough.

Nah, if you click it once to the right, that also shuts off the "auto-headlight" feature.

If the knob is on anything other than "Auto" it disengages the nanny lighting.

I'd like to have the halos ALWAYS on (except when the car's off) and leave the automatic lighting always on too. No way to do that huh?

Your Canadian car is different. You have a slightly different control setup that allows you to turn the DRLs on and off I believe. Don't know what else.

Nope... the motions are one click to the right for daytime driving... then one click to the left for nightime driving (which is Auto)

And when you hear ding ding ding ding getting out of the car it's one click to the left because you left your halos on...

And when you are driving down the road in the daytime and not sure if your halos are on or not just look for the green headlight symbol in the DIC. If you don't see it, halos are not on.

I think Canadian cars can do this... Hylton's does, I believe. U.S. = nope, as described above.

You can leave the halos on when you get out of the car, if you want. They stay on for 10 mins, then automatically turn off

Hmmm... I think I've noticed otherwise. I'll check again tonight.

Dating myself? I'm 25... They called it Twilight Sentinel in my Grandmother's '93 Buick.

Object Detection System

NEW QUESTION ABOUT LIGHTS??!!
The owners manual on page 217 (8-41 thru 8-42) goes into detail about the "Object Detection System" or "Ultrasonic Parking Assist" (URPA). My question is I thought I had all the "available" options but I do not have this. Does anybody have this?? or is this a future option that we never got!!?? What's the deal? There's supposed to be 3 lights seen in the rearview mirror infront of the 3rd tail light. I can see the spot for them but nothing is there. Anyone know anthing about this?
