Mods to go with a supercharger...

Hey guys, I am finally deciding to get a supercharger. I will be getting it sometime this summer, and I wanted to get some input from you guys about what mods to get with it.

Leave it stock(stock headers,cam, exhaust, intake)

New exhaust, Headers, CAI.

Any other Ideas?(Please explain)

Will be a poll with this.

Thanks for the input

EDIT: The supercharger I am going to go with is the TVS2300. Whats the best company to get it through?

I'll let the ones with TVS to tell you what you should add or not, but my two cents would be to find a good shop near by and then buy the stuff through them [even if it's a bit more money], in case there is a problem with parts, they deal with manufacture. If you bring the parts to them and something is not right, YOU have to ship it back and get it exchange. That's why there are dealers. However, if it's a DIY, then try Summit distributor.

Hope this helps!

IM shocked with as many broke axles as weve seen on stock to slightly modded cars that no one has said axles,im scared to leave town with my six speed from what ive seen first hand and im stock! Axles is a must do in my opion once you go fi and put so much more tq to the rear wheels for a much longer time.We can help you get a great deal on the 2300 as well as the axles ,we also have many dealers that will be able to take care of you as well.If we can answer any questions or help you with your purchase give us a call 98o-521-0722

Hi;

First my disclaimer My following question isn't an attack or questioning you, but rather asking straight question;

You're right, we hardly see any post regarding Axles failure or even engine blow-up, just because no one likes to brag about it. It could also be, because there aren't any. You mentioned "IM shocked with as many broke axles as weve seen on stock to slightly modded cars" which indicates it's something common.

So, my question is, are the stock axles that weak? or are you just saying to sell a few more? (like you said a while back you sell truck loads of TVS at $5K )
Secondly if this is the case, I think you should prepare some factual information so from this point on, anyone is putting F/I on, they also add axles to the equation and could benefit you as well.
Hope this helps the community!

To try and answer your question,i sell rims,sparkplug wires,headers,speaker enclosures,radiators, as well as having our on clutch line ,all great pieces but i dont consider them a must untill they fail.The axle on the other hand can take out other parts and make for a costly repair.I send out axles almost every day for new camaros,i talk to many of the customers and am shocked at how many are stock or close to stock power levels,if you have a six speed you can bet you will break your axle,an auto wll take a little longer.If you look at our record you will see while we do devolope and sale parts for a living we are here to help first and foremost.And we do send out maggies every day for less than $5000,it was directed to one of the dealers that had posted,never said it was for the camaro, we are more than a one trick pony.. I will slip and say we are working on a lower cost supercharger for the camaro guys,v6 and v8 and should start testing pretty soon.Thats all i can say for now..To sum it up,if you get fi 99% will break an axle,it will be costly for that 99% that doesnt prepare for it.

Sir, thank you for the info; What's the cost, so people can add it to their mods and do you also have an estimate to install them?
Thank you again!

On my GTO I'm budgeting $3k for my rearend upgrades. Inner stubs, outer stubs, axles, and a Truetrac. I'm not sure how the Camaros work, but on the GTO's the inner stubs and axles will twist and snap at around 450-500rwhp if launching hard with a 6 speed. The auto cars can get away with more power. The outer stubs seem to let go after 600rwhp. The stock posi in the GTO's has been as fast as low 9's, but I want to replace it for piece of mind.

By the way +1 for Hendrix. He spend a lot of time on the phone talking about my combo and what's going to work. That's who I'm getting my TVS2300 through.

Jerry,

If you are going to do a supercharger and blow the warranty, might as well do long tube headers, highflow cats, CAI and a good tune. I would be worried about the axles on the LS3's they do not seem to handle the drop of the clutch well.

Scott,

Well I won't be dropping the clutch that much, I am sure later down the road I might consider upgrading the Axles.

I did some adding and stuff with MTI Racing and Hennessey.

The MTI I did the TVS 2300, Corsa Cat-Back Exhaust, and New Sway Bars.(Forgot to include the CAI).

Hennessey I did the TVS 2300, Corsa Cat-Back, Sway Bars, and the Hurst short throw shifter.

Both are gonna be around 10 grand to do, which really isn't bad for all of that stuff.

Any other advice would be appreciated.

Thanks,
Jerry
