Anyone go from Ground Effects to stock body?

So, I traded in my 2011 2LT/RS Vert for a 2012 2SS/RS Vert last week, and this one has the GM Ground Effects (GDFX) body kit on it, which I don't particularly like. As part of the deal, the dealership is going to remove the body kit for me and replace it with the stock parts (rockers and rear diffuser).

So, has anyone else done this before? Gone from GDFX back to stock kit. If so, are there any cosmetic issues I should expect?

I appreciate all input, thanks!

Good call on removing them. In my opinion these cars do not look good with them at all. But I cant answer your question. You are going to love that 2SS/RS

Exactly! I think the body looks incredible as it is, I think the GFX package makes it too bulky. Can't wait for it to be removed, the stock body "kit" should be on the car by Friday.

That was the question of mine, too. But the dealership has been ordering the stock parts and organizing this whole thing for well over a week now, and they haven't said anything about issues, so I'm assuming there's a workaround. Wouldn't the stock rockers + splitter just fill in the holes from the GFX package?

The GFX rocker panels use the same clips and screws as stock.

I think the rear diffuser may need adjusting on the exhaust tips. It attaches the same stock or GFX.

Ok, thank you for the clarification. I had figured that if there would be any real issues with putting the stock parts back on, the dealership would have said something. I just dropped the car off about an hour ago, so it should be back to stock by Friday.

I went from the OEM GFX to the ZL1 side skirts, rear diffuser, and other items.

Going back to bone stock no but make sure you get to keep the GFX so you can sell them.

Yup, going to sell them online most likely. How much do you think I can get for both rockers and the rear diffuser? They're painted Victory Red.

I just installed GFX on mine a few weeks ago. The front splitter is rivetted on and if removed the 13 rivet holes will be visable. The side skirts use the same factory locations and fasteners so they can be removed without a problem. The rear diffuser gets four holes drilled, two will be visable when removed. Also, tape is used on the front splitter and rear diffuser is supposed to be permanent and may damage the paint when removed. Perhaps the dealer has some way to get the tape off without damage but regardless holes will be visable since the gfx is made to be a permanent installation. Good luck!
