There is defiantly a problem with 2nd Gear

Did more runs with my car, i have 630 miles on it now and i wanted to do some more runs to see if i continued to have problems.

I have the auto and had it in sport tapshift mode

on the first run i had the gas down about 70-80% down.

First gear was fine shifted around 6k rpm

then i got into 2nd and got to around 5k rpm the engine began to stop and jump up the rpm latter. It stopped at 5k for a sec then jumped to 6k and then stopped again and jumped to 7k and i shifted. Each time it jumped it was very whiplash like. If anyone has driven a manual it was like shifting very un-smoothly. Except it did it 3 times in the same gear.

It did the same thing with TC off and with 100% throttle.

Im checking it out with my dad tomorrow morning, and probably taking it into service as-well. Anybody have any ideas of what this could be?

Maybe you hit the rev limiter

In another thread it seems like someone was having a problem like this. his problem happened when the tach was at 6000. He also had an automatic. I think hitting the rev limiter was the consencise. I will try to remeber the tread. It was not to long ago.

Why would you even be hitting 7k? The car looks like it is less than a week old

because 630 miles is enough to break in an engine

and i should be able to redline every gear and do burnouts out of the parking lot of the dealership with 10 miles on the car, this has nothing to do with break in

630 miles? huh? You probably broke the engine before it had a chance to break in. Chances are you might of killed the warranty since you didn't follow directions in the manual that says be careful for 1,500 miles.

do you have any idea how much engineering goes into the LLT engine?

Its an automatic transmission that shifts for you even if you are in tapshift mode if you get too high. If you think getting to 5-7k is dangerous for such an advanced engine that is tested and made to handle much higher rpm then i dont know what to tell you. If you just wanna say 1500 miles or else because the manual says so then please dont post in this thread

My question would be, does it do it without using the tap shift and just in M and letting it shift on its own. Because it's my understanding once you hit one of the tap buttons, the computer goes into a different mode. Maybe you are bumping the limiter where the computer is giving you a shift denied until the RPM's are being matched.....Just a little safe guard ....

no it does it in sport non tap shift mode and in drive. The thing is it only happens in 2nd gear to my knowledge. It goes up the rpms very smoothly in 1st in tap shift mode. But it does has this problem in 2nd. I have not been able to test 3rd due to the speed but it seemed fine at 5k rpm when i shifted out of 2nd.
