Tuning program

I have a 2013 1LT with the V6 LFX engine. I have done many basic upgrades, CAI intake, exhaust, ported throttle body, etc. I also have NOS. I am looking to buy a tuning program. I already know the selection for the V6 is extremely limited. Was wondering what others have gotten and the results and ease of using. I am also looking at getting the Vitesse product to remove the throttle delay. Wondering if anyone thinks this product is worth getting or if a tuner program can do the exact same thing. Thanks for any and all help.

If you want to learn to do it yourself, I would recommend purchasing HPTuners PRO version. The learning curve is steep however.

I'm still trying to figure out if it is worth getting the Vitesse eventhough I have HPT, and I am leaning towards it being beneficial because I can't find anyone who has successfully done the same altercations with a tune

Yeah I am also worried about doing something wrong. I have always been the one to do any work on my car but never messed with any programming. Mechanical I have zero worries but programming does worry me. I have looked at the HPT on their site and tried to contact them thru E mail (the only way they show to contact them) but have never heard back. I have also seen the IPF tuned green camaro with the supercharger. But also don't know much about their product. I am ready to buy something while the car is up for the winter (it's only a show car) but don't know enough about either to purchase yet. I have read the the Vietesse is a great product and works even better with a tuned car. I'll probably be purchasing one of them within the week.

The only reason I say to look into HPT is that you can then load tunes for the track and for normal driving since you have the nitrous kit.

If you are concerned about breaking stuff, you can always take the tune off your car and email it to a company that can make modifications for you. Although that will get costly, it's nice to see what they change and why, and you can swap your tunes very easily.

That's exactly the reason why I looked at HPT. I want something I can load for everyday driving then if I want to go to the strip I can load another right there and run it down the 1/4 mile then put it back and drive it home. You are exactly on my line of thought.

Well I ordered both the Vitesse and the HP Tuner. Trying to research everything I can about the HP now so I can start learning what to do. But I am gonna take my time and go very slow to learn it right. I should have both products before the end of the week.

Nice!

I'm probably going to wait until the summer before I pick up the Vitesse. My other project cars are tying up my cash haha

I use BETA HP Tuners for the LFX engines. Great results but as you know based on our conversation, there's a lot to understand both on the Engine side and the Transmission side.

Enjoy,

Phil

how hard would it be to learn how to use HPTuners PRO as ChibiBlackSheep suggested?

HPT was hard for me to learn, and still dont quite have the whole thing down. The throttle controller will do what the tune cant. There have been some issues with the V6 crowd, but all in all most are happy and trouble free.

I am hoping to get the O2 sensor welded in this upcoming weekend. Then I plan on getting ahold of you at Tampa Tuning to start the process we talked about. I am really looking forward to the help and results from this. So we should be taking very soon.
