do i need a tune

last week i had installed kooks headers with high-flow cats and corsa exhaust, the dealership installed it where i purchased it from, check engine light came on after install, so i called them and told me to bring it back, they got the check engine light off, stayed off for about a week, however came back on today, can someone please tell me what i need to do to keep it from coming back on. Next spring i'm going to get the procharger supercharger installed so i really didnt want to get a tune till then, sorry about the long post.

I'd say not a tune but just find out what is causing the warning.

Even moving the 02 sensors from their original position they won't get "hot" like they supposed to or a time frame that the PCM wants to see, that may be causing the code.

im pretty sure it is the O2 senors, because when the dealer removed the code the first time the check engine light stayed off for about a week, so im just trying to figure out what all you guys did to keep the check engine light off after installing longtubes and exhaust

I would get a tune if I was you. Not only will it correct the false readings from your O2 sensors but there is no telling what that false reading is doing to your engine.

You lose the "engine" warranty. Its not like you lose common warranty like if ur seatbelt was messed or windows.. Put you gotta pay to play so its a gamble

I don't know... I would rather keep my engine warranty. I would also think if you lost the engine warranty with a tune you can say goodbye to the rest of the driveline warranty too!
It would be nice if we could all get something in writing from GM on what exactly they want and don't want us to do to maintain the warranty!

I want to know which dealership sells and installs Kook's long tube headers and high flow cats (that's a pretty cool dealership)?
I didn't think a dealership would touch the factory cats (I thought that would be illegal for a Chevy dealership). The high flow cats that come with kooks aren't going to be emissions legal as far as I know. And running long tubes with high flow cats without tuning can create its set own issues.
Myself, I wouldn't even think about running long tubes and high flow cats without tuning.
