ZL1 performance

Me and a couple family members/buddys took the ZL1 down a windy road and I have to say wow I'm Impressed.
I've been down this road a ton of times in both my 4rth gen and streetbike and the ZL1 made my jaw drop. It was like it was on rails.......I know everybody says that, but I took some turns at 40-50mph and not even a squeel from the tires.
and no sign of slipping.........

to sum it up WOW LOVE THE WAY THE ZL1 HANDLES.
If you are on the fence about upgrading to a ZL1 and you can financially do it.......GO FOR IT.

I know the feeling. It feels more like you are driving a true "machine"...like it can anticipate roads, etc. I have been grinning for almost 3 years now. And it just gets better the more you drive it and learn it.

This, more than anything, in my opinion, sums up where this car really shines. It's not the fastest straight line muscle car ever, though it's still really fast, but in the corners it feels awesome. For folks that have any desire to go anywhere where the road curves then I think the ZL1 strikes the perfect balance between the pure race replica that is the Z28, but actually having more power to kick you out of the corners. I took mine to the mountains the other day and you couldn't wipe the grin off my face. An absolute blast in the curves and just as you said doesn't squeal one bit. For a car this heavy to perform so well is a true engineering feat. Well done Chevy!

Take it to Tail of the Dragon. 318 smiles in 11 miles. The turns are real tight and some people say this isn't the area it performs the best, but it is awesome! I've done it 3 times. Best part you can do the dragon and then do the Cherohala Skyway for the high speed sweepers and great views.

Maguilar: I feel ya! I took mine out for a 500 plus mile break in trip on the first weekend. I was not sure about all the hype if it was true or not. Long story short it was simply amazing what Chevy did to that car!!! Now I want to track it real bad. Money well spent

Off topic, but you should come out to the next Omega Motorsports 1/2 mile event on May 2nd. It's in Shafter if you haven't already heard of it. Been going for years and there is always such a sad turnout of Camaro's.

Jeff_ss: is it the "NO FLY ZONE"?

I want to attend that soooo bad.
What are the specifics?
heard it was $200 to get in unlimited runs.

what protection is needed......helmet? roll cage?
I also heard something about not spinning the tires or you get kicked out.........any truth to that?

Yeah just a helmet. You can have passengers too (obviously if they have helmets)
And yeah no burnouts. It'll be frowned upon if you leave rubber haha

I would go with the Cherohala Skyway being the most fun but i've only ridden them both on a motorcycle...

Yeah I always just go for fun though, I know most the competition makes more power lol. The event makes for a good day and allows you to stretch your cars legs and not have to worry about cops because it's legal.
