Anyone know this car?

A dealer who is 2 hours away from me has the following car for sale:

http://www.sunsettrucks.com/auto/use...amaro/3225495/

They are claiming its an all motor, 700 Horsepower engine in a 2013 2SS. Suspension/wheels/tires/brakes also done. It looks clean, but with a dealer you just never know. They do not have a dyno sheet or a build sheet from the original owner so they are unable to tell me exactly what has been done to the car.

I have not received a carfax report yet, so maybe there is some information in there that can help.

I am trying to find out what the power output of this car actually is, what work has been done to it and what shop did the work / tuning. Any help is greatly appreciated!

If it's been modified I would stay away from it. Even if you know what was done. You don't know how it was driven. Of course this is a risk with any used car. Spend the money and get a new SS, 1LE, ZL1, Z28. Then you can drive it like you stole it.

I am being very skeptical of the car, I definitely don't trust a dealership to know anything about a trade in. But, there are good deals out there so I will at least look into this a little bit. If I can pick this one up for $30K and it is a well built NA engine I think it would actually be a good deal.
Problem with new cars is I cant afford a new SS w/ 1LE and that's what I really want. According to the carfax this car was sold in California, driven for 17,500 miles, sold at an auction and delivered to a Washington dealer, sold to someone and that person modded it, drove 1000 miles on it and traded it back in to the same dealer for a truck.

I honestly think the car has 500 RWHP and the dealer is talking it up. But again, $30K for 500 RWHP on a 2013 2SS isn't bad as long as its well built. I just need to find the previous owner or shop that worked on it.

Well I was right, the car is rated at 500 with Boltons. The 700 horsepower car is is a 2010 with a supercharger.

Sold at auction - there's a big red flag right there!

I agree with everyone else, and I'd stay away from this car. Way too many things that stand out to me about its history.

I guess that my car has lost all of it's value based on the above comments. I have many of the same exterior cosmetic mods and also some to the suspension. No engine mods so far so maybe I am still ok?

It looks like a clean car based on the pictures but with a used car who knows for sure? Isn't it common for dealers to get rid of trade in's if they don't sell or aren't a good match for their dealership? Before getting my Camaro I was looking at used Z06's and they seemed to be traded around to different dealers in the PNW usually ending up in the larger metro areas. Maybe easier to sell there.

I wouldn't say your car has lost its value due to the mods because you were the one who installed everything and you have the paperwork to back up your claim. The dealer has no documentation on what was done, no proof there was any internal work and only a butt dyno to claim 500hp. Which may or may not be at the wheels. This is a shaddy deal no doubt, but there is a small chance its a legit modded car with quality work done at a shop. And that small, miniscule chance is what keeps me going back to their website to see if its sold or not....

One of the reasons it was sold and shipped up here is that the car might not have passed California's exhaust test. I hear its exhaustive (ha!).

Anyway I am staying away from the car for now.

Sunset deals in performance cars they have sent new Camaro's in to have superchargers put on them. Does this one come with the warranty for life they offer? If a car has been done right there is nothing wrong with having it tuned and built. With the new computers controlling everything it is very hard to hurt one if it is maintained properly. Ie the oil changed on a regular basis, only putting quality fuel in it letting it warm up before mashing the throttle. These are not the old V-8's where gas would flood into the oil they are very sophisticated. I would probably be more worried about the clutch than the engine if it has not had a clutch upgrade with that much HP.
I have a 10 SS that has been professionally built that is still N/A about 480-500 RWHP haven't had a chance to get it to the Dyno yet after a cam upgrade. But my Tuner says it should last as long as any other motor with the care I give it. More than 1 g lateral, 391 Rear gears, and a perma grin on the mountain roads. JMHO offer em 27K and see if they move. Oh a ps my car still passes WA emissions
